Well, the theory underlying it wouldn’t be illegal immigration at least.

In practice right now, it’s mostly just being used as a tool to delay deportation - folks have figured out that if you turn yourself in to CBP and make an asylum claim, you get a court date years from now and won’t get deported until your asylum claim gets denied.

So applying for asylum isn't legal immigration then? Can you point me to the law that made this illegal? Or is the claim that whether immigration is considered legal or illegal in your mind isn't dependent on the law?

Are you saying that this ridiculous policy isn’t abused? Why are illegals allowed to lie to the USG when we citizens cannot?

F no. Do a sting instead. Set up locations in all the cities for illegal migrant aid and when they show up to get free stuff round them up and ship them back home. But first, take their mugshots because they are criminals

If the undocumented immigrants are here seeking asylum, they are not here illegally, and aren't criminals.

And again, why not give them work visas and allow them to make their own living? And again, why not give the undocumented aliens already in our work force work visas and make them legal? Unless anyone has a good economic reason to create an additional 8 million jobs in an environment with already over 9 million open positions, and only 6.4 million unemployed that I can't think of?

So no answer to either question then? It is better that way if you want to argue that people who are currently legally allowed to reside in the country are somehow "illegal immigrants." Be honest, when you say "illegal immigrant," the term isn't really meant to signify a person who is currently illegally residing in the US, is it?

Okay, people legally in the country are totally illegal immigrants, right?

Okay, because I think immigration quota laws are stupid, I hearby declare all immigrants legal regardless of what the law says. I just solved illegal immigration! Who knew it could be so easy?
