This is back in the news:
Gov. DeSantis pushes back in 'executive privilege' fight

It is an absolutely ridiculous argument. The idea that the executive privilege, to the extent it even existed in Florida, survived a constitutional amendment that specifically made records of the executive publicly available and delegated to the Legislature to determine the exemptions (subject to some limitations) is ludicrous. But I don't trust the DeSantis sycophants in the Florida judiciary to care about what the Florida Constitution says.

This only feels like Florida. But from a leader with similar religious values in application

Last year’s U.S. Supreme Court decision rescinding a five-decade-old right to abortion has reshaped American abortion policy, shifting power to states. About half of U.S. states have adopted bans or major restrictions, although not all are being enforced due to legal challenges.

In the Soviet Union, abortion laws meant that some women had the procedure multiple times due to difficulties in obtaining contraceptives.

After the USSR’s collapse, government and health experts promoted family planning and birth control, sending abortion rates falling. At the same time, laws allowed women to terminate a pregnancy up until 12 weeks without any conditions; and until 22 weeks for many “social reasons,” like divorce, unemployment or income.

That changed under Putin, who has forged a powerful alliance with the Russian Orthodox Church, promoting “traditional values” and seeking to boost population growth. Health Minister Mikhail Murashko has condemned women for prioritizing education and career over childbearing.

Seminole Tribe of Florida to expand casino gaming -

It's here. After SCOTUS sided with the Seminole Tribe of Florida to reject a federal challenge to the new Gaming Compact with the state, the Tribe is ready to offer craps, roulette and sports betting at its six casinos.

Dec. 7 is launch day at the Tribe's South Florida outfits: Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Seminole Classic Casino in Hollywood and Seminole Casino Coconut Creek. New games will be live Dec. 8 at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa, with the other two starting Dec. 11.

Launch weekend will feature "star-studded" events to be announced soon.

They have been helping to prop up DeSantis' flagging campaign after national donors have abandoned. He's been shaking down Florida interests with vigor and the Tribe has been among the most prominent

They may feel not quite so obligated, but overall, he still has a lot of power and is very vindictive. Plus, if I was in their position, you want to make sure that he isn't politically viable. The Front Runner may not be able to maintain the campaign, for a lot of reasons. A lot of solid considerations for why you don't want to get on his bad side if you do business in the state, even if it's costly.

If this happens, that will confirm that he is viewed in state as politically dead, at least for federal office

He’s a lame duck with no teeth. State legislature isn’t going to be catering to his whims over the next two years like they did the last two.

Eh, I don't know. He still has a bully pulpit and the ability to line-item veto funding they want.

Multiple school districts in Florida have pulled The Freedom Writers Diary (yes, the book that led to the Hillary Swank movie) out of libraries because of the stupid law passed by DeSantis and his cronies. Consider how nuts that is. That's the tip of the iceberg on the book banning happening right now.

It's not fair to say that Scott is just a front runner. He didn't wait until after the World Series to back the Rangers. He did so after the 4 spot in the top of the 9th. Very different ;>

Somewhat ironic that although butt hurt Meatball Ron was driven by retribution against Disney he is apparently unintentionally demonstrating that a private corporation can perform governmental functions better than a government entity.
