Even within the broad category of "the media," I think we'd want to break it down further. For example, newspapers have traditionally been liberal, but I suspect at least part of that is because major newspapers were written out of large cities, and large cities tend to be more liberal. On the other hand, conservatives have long dominated talk radio. I'm not aware of any structural disadvantages against liberals in that medium; it just seems that liberal talk radio isn't as popular as conservative talk radio for whatever reasons.

Yeah, the US as a whole isn't buying what right-wingers have to offer. Sure, there's a market for RW garbage, but if you want to tap that market you're going to alienate 70% of your other customers.

I think the key to your distinction is with the form of the media. Newspaper articles are generally written by college educated journalists and, to consume their work, one must subscribe to the paper and actually read it. Talk radio imposes no such burden on its consumers and will attract a different audience.

How about no. 3 — call em out when they are wrong, instead of advocating for positions you, deep down, think are wrong?

The fact that there are conservative platforms does not preclude the notion that there are conspiracies to suppress conservative thought, nor does it mean those conspiracies are never or have never been successful.

None of this is mutually exclusive.

Fair enough, but I think talk radio is much more niche and far less respected as “authority” in media, which is part of the battle: controlling which voices have power and which opinions have merit.

You can’t cite talk radio in a study or debate unless you want someone to laugh at you.

    1. I think it’s wrong in an ideal world, not as a temporary means to an end under the right circumstances.
    2. Because bitching and moaning does nothing to solve the problem.

Simple, he was a dictator whose policies brought about a worse dictator in Castro, but still a corrupt dictator.

I dont read all your posts but have you ever called out a right wing dictator?

I have. I just called out Batista, and I’ve called out Hitler if you consider Hitler right wing.

But I don’t think that’s why you brought up Batista, you brought him up to suggest or imply Cubans have a tendency to “choose” dictators. You were blaming Cubans for their suffering under Castro.

Both headline quitters were from 60%+ solid red areas who didn’t vote to throw out state votes they didn’t like. They will likely be replaced by total nuts.

Further confirmation that there is no place for you in today's gop unless you have unwavering fealty to the orange god and his sycophants. They will be branded as rinos, vilified, and cast out.

That's more BS. Think again before you post or call someone a bigot.

I was simply pointing out your hypocrisy regarding dictators. You only mentioned Batista after others raised his name, yet dictators like Castro and Maduro are rampant in your posts along with your attempt to tie Dems to them.

You must have a victim complex or something. I've never blamed the Cubans, Haitians or any other people who suffer under a dictator. Adios.

    I don’t know, I don’t make the rules.

    Do you disagree?

If I had to guess it’s because “talk radio” is typically opinion shows, not “big j” journalism.

“But 715, why can’t they just have ‘big j’ journalism on talk radio?”

Perhaps some have tried (on both sides of the aisle), but none hold a candle to the opinion shows like Limbaugh. Why that’s the case, I don’t know. The people like to be entertained in the car I guess.

Honestly don’t know much about him. By reputation around these parts he’s not good.

I don’t follow Hungarian politics closely.
