In 2017, Biden held no public office…. what exactly was China buying for a whole $40,000 from a guy that just declined to run for president?
If you can watch the simple question War asked go unanswered by the committee and come away thinking they have something we live on 2 different planets.
From the article: Biden received a $40,000 personal check from an account shared by his brother, James Biden, and sister-in-law, Sara Biden, in September 2017 — money that was marked as a “loan repayment.” The alleged repayment was sent after funds filtered from Northern International Capital, a Chinese company affiliated with CEFC, through several accounts related to Hunter Biden and eventually down to the personal account shared by James and Sara Biden. The committee says the series of payments establish a direct benefit Biden received from his family’s business dealings, despite Biden’s claims that he has not been involved.
They don't explain if it was an actual loan repayment or not. If Biden did loan them money then he's not exactly profiting from this.
They are essentially arguing here that because a Biden relative repaid a personal loan to Joe with money that had been earned from a Chinese business deal, over a year after Biden decided to leave politics, and passed through 7 accounts/business, then it must mean that Joe Biden …. Ummmmm…. I don’t know…. What does it mean…
Note the date of the presser and today's date. Might not have had this connection yet? Keep living in your world, I will live in the real world!
Sort of but the initial funds would have to be illicit in nature. It's not illegal to have a convoluted payment structure to hide the origin of legally obtained funds. Either way, if Joe did provide a loan and was being paid back then it's going to be hard to prove he did anything wrong unless the original funds Joe used to provide the loans were obtained illegally and this whole scheme was the means to launder them. It could be one piece of a larger puzzle or it could be nothing. They need to keep going and get more information. Given that Joe could probably give a speech for one hour and make more than $40k it seems unlikely he'd put everything at risk over $40k.
I dont know much about money laundering, but it seems more sophisticated than writing personal checks to family member, writing a fake reason in the memo and leaving a paper trail with your name on it for anyone investigating. But maybe they are really bad at it, I dunno.
Also, didn't this check surface like a month ago to little fanfare? I seem to remember it making its way around twitter for a day.
OP you're reaching on this one. Biden was not in office and family members loan each other money all of the time.
"Here Jarad, take the 2 Billion. We might have a loan payment check from son back to father with the Bidens, so no one will question us." LOL
Oh no! A family member repays a loan when the other family member wasn't in office. How horrible! Don’t they realize that paying back a loan to another family member is destroying this country?
Jeez where was all the looking the other way when the Trump family was questioned by you guys and the MSM you follow so diligently?
Did you read the article? It shows it went through like 4 or 5 companies before it ended up with him. That is classic laundering.
Proof? Most of the allegations have already been fact checked. And while not definitive, there is plenty of evidence Joe loaned his brother money, short-term, no interest. And brother James repaid the loan back. Where brother James got the money back could be of concern, but only if Joe was involved in James' business. But both Joe and James have released statements that Joe didn't involve himself with brother James' business. $40k is chump change for a guy like Joe Biden back in 2017/2018. Joe did very well for himself after leaving the VP office. He had a $550,000 year job from UPenn, a book deal, and speaking engagements where he could and did make $100k for a few hours of work. What would $40k get? Not much, especially since Joe, at the time, was a private citizen and not campaigning for any office. Maybe James is dirty? Maybe he made some back financial deals with the wrong people and that's why he needed $200k from brother Joe? Who knows, but again, what did Joe do wrong precisely? Loan his brother money and get repaid without interest?
