You said the Rose Bowl sold out because of “Prime fans”. If they are fans of Prime, and bought the tickets to see/support him, then it wasn’t a media frenzy that caused the ticket sales. I’m just going off of what you said. One of our very own Gator greats was criticized the same way for being popular… Tim Tebow. So many people hated the guy because he could fill a stadium with his own fans and the media reported on him because he was a fascinating individual. Prime is no different.
I hope you realize this is irrational. You are entitled to feel that way, but you should excuse yourself from any logical conversations on this topic.
Honestly, I don’t feel like getting sucked into a huge research project that I’m not that interested in.
I didn't think so. And your analogy with Tebow has a few merits, but two entirely different styles. For Florida fans (and Christians in general), Tim was the epitome of selflessness, using his platform to share his belief in Christ with good works and a selfless spirit, but to those who were sick and tired of Verne and Gary's perpetual adulation, Tim was a grandstanding attention whore. Sanders has always struck me as an utterly self-absorbed self-promoter, in the same way Trump has always been a self-absorbed self-promoter. Everything they do is all about them, and if folks are helped along the way, so much the better. But if not, well, we have a business to run... (Not meant to be political, BTW. Those of us who grew up in West Palm Beach knew of Donald long before he became a politician, or even a Republican).
I don’t hate anyone, it’s just football really but I’m definitely not a fan. Our coach is about on the same plain and he isn’t getting the ridiculousness. Some don’t think very much of Napier at all.
It’s just football my guy. Nothing really any more than that. It’s just a game and not at all serious. I don’t “hate@ Dion. Just never been a fan.
That’s cool, and I certainly understand that, but you also didn’t make it seem like a lighthearted thing. I suppose if that was clear up front we wouldn’t have had this back and forth. I don’t like Dabo, but I don’t have a need to constantly bash him and explain away his success. I also realize that my dislike of him is probably unwarranted and based off of exaggerated interpretations of his words and actions.
Generally speaking, people here aren't vehemently defending dabo, jimbo and other coaches. I think people here aren't going out of their way to make an issue out of Deion but rather reacting to the hype or defense of that hype. Just my take.
Just a personality me first attitude that I don’t like in anyone and I wouldn’t want anyone like him representing me in anyway, but hell, I wouldn’t ask him to leave my party. It’s just football and shittalking.
