Yeah, if anyone here posting wasn't alive or was too young for 9/11 the last few weeks are a nice taste of what it was like to live through, minus social media of course.

 

This is just whataboutism. Does everything a critic who says anything of Israel have to state condemnations all around for everything else happening whenever they say something? If I accuse the Republicans of lying do I need to write that "of course Democrats lie too" to be taken seriously? No one asks supporters of Israel to condemn their actions, they just mindlessly repeat they have the right to defend themselves (which I suppose Palestinians dont?). Who gets to defend themselves? Who gets to kill the innocent justly?

 

I guess even if a poster shows they are racist you can't call them out on it. Weird, but whatever. At least we now know who is by their posting in this thread.

 

Israel already carried out at least five attacks into Gaza, and killed dozens of Palestinian civilians, in 2023 before the October 7th atrocities.

There is no good side in this conflict.

 

To what period are you referring? Keep in mind that during the last 16 years Hamas has launched thousands if not tens of thousands of rockets into Israel and to the extent that Hamas was targeting the rockets they were aimed at areas populated by Israeli civilians and while there have been relatively few Israeli casualties thanks to the Iron Dome system it's not for want of trying to kill Israeli civilians by Hamas. The areas in Gaza from which the rockets are launched and/or stored are legitimate targets and given both the density of the Gaza Strip along with Hamas's practice of inserting their fighters into areas populated by civilians tragically there is no way of absolutely avoiding civilian casualties.

 

Why has Israel carried out any attack on Gaza? Can you pinpoint the one in which Israel was just taking initiative to, like, have military practice or keep the civilians of Gaza on their toes?

 

As I alluded to earlier in the thread, Israel has blockaded Gaza since Hamas took power, even calculating minimum survival calories that had to be permitted in foodstuffs. That's an act of war.

It's a fools errand to play the "Han shot first" game. Better in my mind to just say that 10/7 was a provocation that demanded an extreme response

Do you think an occupation and blockade isn't an act of aggression or some kind of exercise of domination? This would explain a lot when it comes to how people view American foreign policy (especially Cuba).

This year, 2023, prior to October 7th. It seems odd to say that if October 7th hadn't happened, then Israel wouldn't be attacking in Gaza. Given that prior to the October 7th atrocities, Israel was attacking in Gaza.
