Not necessarily this year but if our program is at the point where we consider we could get beat by Vandy, SC, Mizzou, Kentucky and Tennessee we certainly aren’t where we should be. No surprises. Just saying he has their program in a better place than ours is at this time.

That just has to be automatic to win games.

I could also answer that question with “The Florida Gators”. Losing to Kentucky is embarrassing. It was only a little ways back that they hadn’t beat us in 30 years.

All true but our ceiling is much higher. Stoops has been at UK for a while and where they are is where they will be. 8-9 wins. A solid team that plays consistently but will not challenge for an SEC championship game. I mean have they even ever been in the damn thing?

Us losing to Vandy and the like says more about the dreadful state we are in, not how good Vandy is.

Losing to UK is embarrassing. It's just where we are as a program right now. I wouldn't call any program beating the Gators in the past several seasons an upset except for maybe Vandy.
When was the last time UK upset someone? LSU back in 07 or 08?

I probly just pay more attention to what teams are doing against us rather than against other competitors

4th and 2 feet against a championship team is hardly automatic. Ask USC (one of the best offenses ever) how hard it is to get 2 feet against a championship quality team circa 2005.

It’s simple. If you can’t get two feet, you lose anyway. That’s what los league means. You can hang or you can’t.

We are probably still had a better place than they are. They have plateaued, and we are on our way up.

Can’t believe you of all people are gonna sit there with a straight face and say that to me. After all we’ve been through. Bold cotton. I would love to be pissed off rn at losing a couple closely contested games (and losing that one we shouldn’t) against good teams and knowing that at least we will beat down the rest of the inferior teams like Tucky that are at a minimum a year or two ahead of us rn

Let’s for the sake of argument look at next years schedule. Now assuming we still have Mertz (I’m saying that’s a good thing), we hold together this class and maybe get a few more surprises, we hit the portal hard and BN makes a few welcome changes to the coaching staff/philosophy. Nothing easy bout this.

    Home-
    Kentucky
    LSU
    Ole Miss
    Texas A&M

    Road-
    Georgia
    Miss St
    Tennessee
    Texas

    Out of Conference
    Miami (home)
    UCF (home)
    Samford (home)
    florida state (away)

They are where they have been for a few years and show no signs of getting any better.

8 is doable and a win or loss from there.

Yeah without significant upgrades at a lot of positions either through coaching hires, recruiting, portal, or development, or ideally all four of those things, that could easily be a losing season next year. That schedule is nuts.

it’ll be imperative that Uf takes the next step to beating the teams we’re “supposed” to beat next year. Without wins against slightly weaker teams like ucf, samford, Kentucky, msu, that’s a for sure losing season.

Ole miss, texas a&m and mismi are at best toss ups. Lsu maybe at home. Uga I don’t see us beating for a while, Texas on the road? Fsu at doak?

    woof.

Trick plays are nice when they work, but everything has to go right for it to succeed and the odds might be even if we have practiced it until we CANNOT GET IT WRONG, day after day in practice. It's a perishable skill/play that has to be practiced every single day, not one that come up with overnight and think we've mastered it.

One more thing, if we can't make one yard with the personnel we have on our team, then maybe it's a bad idea to try something that has to be executed perfectly to succeed.

We might try something like a 6 many O-line or a 22 personnel with one extra O-lineman... There are far more formations to try before we jump into a trick play for one measly yard.

Think about a 6 man O-line with 2 running backs and 2 tight ends. That would be FAR MORE EFFECTIVE for one yard than a trick play. We should out scheme with better personnel instead of hoping to trick them.

More man power should work every time...for one yard.

I hate to say but think we need good showings in those last 3 or the noise will be deafening. Esp if bad losses impact the 24 recruiting class. We always hear that it means earlier pt but I think looking inept will influence recruits as well.

I just hope we didn't get any of our players injured during this game. I know we has a linebacker tweak his angle before the game, hope he's okay.

We can’t make more power is the problem right now. You can line em up from sideline to sideline and Georgias front seven are going to stuff between the tackles. They know we know and that’s why a trick play is sniffed out so easily. Had we been able to hold a block even momentarily, it might have worked. Jumbo package can be a thing if the base line can do their job.

I never saw them over powering our O-line, maybe I missed that part. They simply used more numbers to win on a few and on some our receivers never got open and it took too long to get the play going.

All of that was becasue our receivers were being mugged all game long.
