And the core price index from the commerce department today was good.

Inflation Trends Keep Fed Rate Hikes on Pause

Core prices were up at a 2.8% annualized rate in April through September, down considerably from a 4.5% annualized rate in the prior six-month period. The Fed’s inflation target is 2%.

At their meeting last month, Fed officials projected core inflation would fall to 3.7% in the fourth quarter from a year earlier. Friday’s report suggests inflation would end the year below that projection, which could strengthen the case to hold rates steady.

Another reason for the fed pause is long term rates are going up by themselves. No need for the fed to act if the market is doing it for them.

Cuts are gong to be necessary soon. Got to drop rates starting q1. Ar least 100bps in 24.

Edit checked market indeed is pricing 100bps but starting q2. A nice 75 bps cut June through Sept Should help Joe and DemoncRATS in time for election.

    Yeah, everything is awesome gang!

    https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/30/wha...e-growth-forecast-for-2024-means-for-you.html

Workers seeking salaries that will match the ongoing rise in the cost of living are likely to find 2024 a challenging environment.

“The average American has only kept pace with inflation, and maybe feels like they’ve lost ground relative to the pre-pandemic trend,” said Julia Pollak, chief economist at ZipRecruiter.

The data supports that: Growth in the consumer price index surpassed wage growth for full-time workers in 2021 and has not come down since, up 18.2% since the beginning of 2020.

Thanks. Someone forecasted something. Big breaking news!

The forecasts had 100% chance of a recession in 2023. I dont think anyone really has a good idea what is going on.. especially right wing fans faking bad news.

    Yeah, CNBC is far right...

Some people are too obtuse to have rational discussions with.

I wasn’t talking about CNBC. I was talking about you. CNBC says with inflation reducing the wages moderate too. Youre the one who took that and ran here thinking it said something profound.

Good try. Didn't vote for trump ever. Didn't vote for DeSantis in the last election. I'm about 50-40-10 on voting for R's, D's and Independents. So yeah, yet another K for you. I'd say do better but we both know that isn't happening.
