On the D, do they need to simplify a bit or just youth/overmatched. Seems we constantly have a missed assignment in the box and/or in coverage transition.

We got role players no erasers to compensate for others mistakes. We currently lack a monster in the LB room. BN 2024 class is loaded at dline and LB he just needs to close the deal.

Give him time to get the other pieces lined up. Success will come as yhe athletes stack up

I was a huge fan of what the D was doing early in the season, now, not so much. UGA had receivers running open all over the place and I'll borrow from Sheldon from Hightop Sports "Beck was better protected than a new born baby in the hospital." I would be hard pressed to come up with things they are doing well right now, which is a complete 180 from what they were showing early in the year. Non existent pass rush, getting creased in the run game, run fit went from top notch to hit or miss, open receivers, poor tackling. Are they young, absolutely, but they were even younger 5 weeks ago when they were doing at least some of these things well.

I'm going to learn a lot about this coaching staff next year based on whether or not these young guns who have talent and potential, take that next step and become playmakers.

Seem to lack that fast twitch surge . The young guys need a year to build mass. Hopefully the lack of quickness is uncertainty

    Sure you are doing right.

I know we are going to win now with Hunter playing QB, but Colorado's secondary is really going to stink now.

Agree. We knew our OL this year would take a step back compared to last year, but goodness are they killing us this year. We CANNOT begin 2024 with the same OL. Hit the portal hard for OL or be disappointed with the O next year.

Our offense looks much better to me except the line. They just aren’t very good. If those guys could open up holes, our backs and receivers are fine and Zmertz can get them the ball. Our front seven isn’t bad either but there’s just no difference makers among them. The entire defense is that way. They are pretty much better at every position but no ball hawks in tge secondary, no big hitters anywhere, no elite pass rushers. They aren’t bad but the opposing offense has no one to fear. There’s no players consistently making the big play because we don’t have those players. Put Nelson back there, Kearse off the edge, and Siler busting heads in the middle and the other eight guys would look just fine.

Or just be optimistic tgat we have a chance instead of a bunch of losers that think we should just hang it up and not even try.

Oline talent is hard to come by. They better go out and buy some portal and hs linemen if Napier is to have a chance.

yep which is why i hate the “they’re young” excuse. Part of it IS true but I see PLENTY of players on UGA’s D that are true freshmen/sophomores out there treating our 3-4 year players like rag dolls

when we blitz, our players look like they’re running in mud while UGA’s looked to be shot out of a cannon.

Therein lies the problem. The players who are 250-300 lbs with twitch stand out like sore thumbs on high school football fields and the programs who aren't us get who they want.

It puzzles me sometimes how GC posters are far more into critical analysis, seeking the "perfectly coached" game (which by the way does not exist) as compared to just being a fan and rooting for ones favorite team.

I liken it to those living in the past or dreaming of time machines.

It really is laughable to me how many posters want to piss and moan about play calling AFTER THE FACT.

They might as well wish they had met Taylor Swift at 13 and started courting her, or wishing they could play the billion dollar lottery with the correct numbers, AFTER THE DRAW.

I know it's a discussion forumn but I find it striking how many post barbs and insults and act as if they "have all the answers".

Me? I'm going to support UF - win, lose or draw.

This will get me accused of being a "homer" well NO Sh*t !!!!!

IMO this off season will be crucial for going forward. Changes have to be made when we are scrambling in the second year just to get bowl worthy. Staff changes have to be made starting with hiring a top notch OC. Next, have to hire a ST's coach, week after week there are issues. I wonder just how much value BN places on ST play. I know our OL is weak but there just doesn't seem to be development there or ways to compensate for poor play. In other words I see zero reasons to have 2 OL coaches for the second year when OL play remains weak. It's time to evaluate these coaches either dismiss both, or keep one but no way should we keep two. I also wonder about our S&C program. Just seems we are consistently outmuscled in games. I think that needs to be evaluated.
With all the support people BN has hired I am hoping they are currently evaluating top OCs for recommendation and to scour for OL through the portal.
Next year is year 3 and there needs to be improvement on the field. Guys have to be developed.
