Your silence betrays you Hillary. Your selective outrage has been noted.

Desantis has to be one of the biggest flame outs we’ve ever seen in politics. He went from GOP’s “Future” to literally a cartoon character cocktail party joke.

Hillary’s fire didn’t burn bright enough… Desantis can’t light his wet match.

That has to be the worst analysis/analogy of all time. Hillary was the Anakin Skywalker of the Democratic Party. She was the chosen one. The voters, however, knew she was actually Darth Vader….in multiple elections.

No amount of Force could get her elected.

Said it before Ron DeSantis is the Scott Walker or Jeb Bush of 2024, both of whom won multiple gubernatorial elections in their home states.

Scott Walker rides high in Iowa polls. Can he hold the lead?
First Read: Jeb Bush Leads the GOP Pack
The only question is will DeSantis drop out before the Iowa caucuses like Walker or until after he loses several primaries like Jeb? My money is on the latter.

Meanwhile, while you’re being distracted by Desantis, Trump has a 40 point lead. Perhaps the issue is not Desantis’s low numbers, but Trump’s high numbers?

Actually they're two sides of the same coin. DeSantis has turned out to be a lousy candidate and today's Republican Party has become a cult of personality centered around worship of Trump. Despite evidence to the contrary a majority of Republicans still believe that the election was stolen from Trump and his legal problems have actually boosted his numbers in the primary polls. Although it seems irrational to me apparently his supporters actually believe that by going after Trump the federal government is going after them. To them Trump has been become almost an almost Christ-like figure, he is being metaphorically crucified by the Deep State on their behalf.

Mine was a short reign as analogy champ quickly outdone by your worse analogy and easily the worst star wars analogy of all time. Nerd.

    Right here
On this analogy, it should be noted that the ultimate hero of the original Star Wars saga ends up being not Luke, but Anakin.

Also problematic to the thesis is that Palpatine, who clearly ends up as the real villain, was successfully elected.

Both the Dems and pubs are equally cults. With that caveat I agree with your post.

Desantis is a second term Governor with below average national exposure. He had an unremarkable few years in Congress. Hillary has been in the national public eye for 25 years. First Lady, Senator and Sec of State. She was the across the board early fav in 2008 and the across the board fav in 2016. She was such a bad candidate that she had to cheat to get the nomination against an old guy who is pretending to be a socialist.

sorry, she can’t be compared to Desantis.

I’m not sure you can say that DeSantis had a “below average national exposure.”

The guy put himself in the national news very week (by taking extremist, loud, “look at me” stands). The only reason he received such vast amounts of early money is because he built such name recognition on such a short period of time. His name recognition was very high, but when America met the man behind the name, they realized he was a subpar national candidate.

Not nearly the worst Star Wars analogy in board history. After Phantom Menace came out, one of Righties saw it opening day (as did I) and talked about how it validated the anti-tax view of the Right, not realizing that the Trade Federation were supposed to be the bad guys manipulated by Darth Sidious, who was the ultimate bad guy (he thought he was fed up with excess taxes). All that went over his head. I am not making this up.
