You might be overreacting a bit. Sure they were bad calls but that was the two time defen national champions and we are an average team. We may win a couple more games, maybe not. Win the games we are favored in is all tgat should be expected.
Our dline isn’t horrible. The players are decent individually. We just don’t have a disruptive pass rusher anywhere. A defense needs two and we have zero. Our offen line is just bad.
A pass rush would make a world of difference. Beck has a nice pocket all game and Mertz was getting killed by a four man rush.
Seth Varnadore went over the play in his film review and he surprisingly thought it wasn't a bad call and ETN needed to just let it go and give Ricky a chance because it is 4th down. The UGA D just plays it fundamentally sound, which to me is exactly why that play doesn't work in that spot, well coached D's don't fall for that junk.
The ACC is basically made up of “middle of the pack P5 teams”. We’re getting better as a team. If we were in the ACC this year it would easily be 8 or 9 wins. Double digits next year
I believe you’ve hit on the answer as to why Florida football has languished for years … we’re playing in the wrong conference!
he said he didn’t like it, but didn’t hate it. Diplomat 101 Too much trickery. Unfortunately, our OL isn’t going to get a 1 yard push against Ga.
Don’t put a spin on my comment dad — what I’m saying is we’re in a conference that has demonstrated time and again that they don’t like us, they’ve screwed us in the past, and their shitty refs damn near never give us the benefit of the doubt. When there’s no doubt, like that 3rd down spot on the field, they come up with shit to screw us. We’ve had the cards stacked against us in the SEC since the 80s. Screw this crooked conference. We could flourish in a conference where every freaking game isn’t the other team’s Super Bowl. And we’d bring money to the ACC — their shitty refs would probably favor us like they do with ref$u

Fact is, it was a low percentage play when you only had INCHES to go. It was a bad play call for that down and distance period.
I actually think the conference loves whoever is winning the most. I feel as though when we were the top team we were the apple of everyone’s eyes. Do we get bad calls? Yes, but I think all fanbases say something similar. If anything, I think UF gets some if the most preferential treatment of any school out there. If there is any possible way to put us in the top 25, top 10, top 5… we get the benefit of the doubt. It’s amazing how they rush to rank us in football and basketball as soon as we get a slight bit of momentum or buzz. The Gator brand is extremely strong, and our inclusion to lists adds prestige. Contrast this with some teams that they can’t wait to lose to get them out of the rankings like TCU, Kentucky (football), Ole Miss, Mississippi State, etc… Had we beat Kentucky we damn near might have been ranked in the top 10 going into the Florida-Georgia game. I think we are one of the protected programs, but we just haven’t performed in accordance with our reputation, lately.
I agree with your point about how we get favorable rankings - kinda like North Carolina does. But that doesn’t have anything to do with how the SEC treats us. We damn sure weren’t the apple in anybody’s eye back in 1984 when we got robbed of our first SEC Championship - by our own conference. This good ole boy conference has never liked us
I think we are one of the good ole boys… at least now we are. We got outmaneuvered politically in 1984. I’d say that these are the teams the SEC favors and prefers to see at the top of the conference for business purposes. Football Bama, UGA, Florida, LSU Basketball Kentucky, Florida
