The point is comparing what Kirby inherited to what Napier inherited isn’t fair. Mullen checked out his last year and is still waiting for crootin season while Richt was compiling quality talent until he was let go.

Wasted 2018-2021 with Mullen who didn't take recruiting seriously. A competent AD would have never hired that guy.

That coaching staff sucked until Travis developed into a difference making QB last year. Unless they’re fortunate enough to have another waiting to play next year, I bet they’ll be right back to “good” at best.

UF had a good offensive first quarter before UGA adjusted & was able to out-man us. In addition, we had only 2 penalties for the entire game. This is an indication that the coaches are doing the right thing. We will get it going after 2-3 top-5 recruiting classes.

Maybe but his portal work is great. Don’t forget:
    Coleman
    Verse
    Wilson
    Bethune
    Benson
    Lovett
    Fiske
    Cypress
    Lovett
    Byers
    Bell
    Morlock

That’s 12 not counting Travis and I am forgetting some. No reason to think he won’t keep up great portal work. I count 7 nfl players and 2 first round picks.

But you can’t deny Richt left him a pretty solid foundation and culture to build upon.

We will but you have to remember 18 year olds don’t change things until they are 19/20. That’s why portal is so important. At minimum we need:
2 receivers with one being a big time impact guy. Losing Ricky is big. Behind Wilson we have no proven pass catchers. Jean sounds like loads of potential but to say he’s ready to be a number 2 receiver next year is a big stretch.

2 OLine with one being able to play left tackle and I know that is a huge ask but we have to find one before next year. Ultimately May be Waites but we cannot bank on that with the schedule we have next year.

1 edge rusher or DT. We need a difference maker here, somebody that can pressure the quarterback or dominate the line of scrimmage.

Not currently seeing the development that we had expected with our group. Maybe it happens next year but again, I think we need to go out and get some one.

That’s why I said so in my post. Regardless of his roster he didn’t take long to make his impact known and instill that killer mentality in the team. Something that always held richt back.

something I posted earlier was the experience the GA coaching staff has compared to FL. Seems like we have been trying to find the young undiscovered talents that have little to no power5 experience. Coaching matters, yes we need the talent but also need the coaches to develop that talent.

honestly if we had equal talent at every spot as ga do you think we’d win with our current coaching staff?

    We beat Arky
And then let’s see what the guys do at Mizzou. One thing you can say for this team is they never quit/ never give up.

well we better start winning or we aren’t going to continue to bring in top 5 classes. Heck, we better hold on to the class we have now because nothing is a given. The issue is still though, not enough top end talent coming in on the OL. We need Jordan Seaton BAAAAD

Possibly, probably not consistently but I don’t look as BN as a championship caliber coach. I see him more as the Mark Richt type. I think stability is what UF needs more than anything. I kind of feel like that what he was hired to do. I know that’s not what a lot of fans want.

I’m really curious to see what happens this off season. I anticipate staff changes. We might be surprised, we might be disappointed?

But, he also started with a much better roster and existing culture than Napier did. Richt always recruited just fine, he just couldn't coach the big wins.

So, are you saying he was dumb for calling that ridiculously stupid play, or smart for being in a position to get to the CFP?

Good take and I think I said something similar that BN is our Richt. Right now I’d love a 9 to 10 win team each season and just see us be super competitive and not get blown out.

Do us a big favor. Go through your cherry picked data and give some details. How many of those rosters had NFL talent that was mostly in the upper classes starting together? How many of those guys had injuries that took away playing time, with a Freshman backing them up? How many of those rosters that had all of this NFL talent had a second tier of another 15-20 guys who made All SEC?

If you cannot see the monstrous talent gaps that all of our teams have had except for possibly 2012, then you obviously only look at stats and don’t watch games start to finish. Take last years team: Did we have any receivers that made an opposing DC even have to think about double teaming them? Did we have any DL that forced opposing OCs to double team them or to even keep a back in to pick them up if they beat the double team? Did we have any DBs or LBs that made opposing DCs even think about just going away from them? I believe that you will find the answers to all of those questions is no.

Georgia is by far and away a better team than we are. It’s not even close. Our underclass is competitive with their’s but our upper class doesn’t even look like them, much less play with them.

And another thing while I am here and pissed off at the entitled class of our fan base: If you don’t intend to go to the game in Jacksonville then don’t buy a damned ticket. The number of Red shirts in our stands was 10-1 to the number of orange or blue in theirs. Looking left at 220 and right at 349, those two were probably 20% or more Georgia fans. Go to the game, give them to another Gator or don’t buy the damn things!

When UGA went up 10-7, we all knew it was pretty much over unfortunately. We needed to go up 14-3 and punched them in the mouth. That didn’t happen and the rest is history.
