Smart and Uga was also in the National Championship in his 2nd year.

 

That was the year he had the brain fart and went for it on 4th down and didn't get it giving Bama a short field. His reasoning was the defense was tired. My thinking was if your defense is tired, why would you give Bama a short field on a tired defense? So, people need to get over Billy making mistakes by doing things we don't think he should've done. He also doesn't make the NC game had Richt not recruited well.

Yeah but like Meyer he has obviously taken it to the next level. One may surmise he would have succeeded no matter what situation he inherited.

 

it is simple beat Ark and win a bowl optimism. The other games don't matter. Lost to Ark and add third more loses where is the optimism? If we can't be Ark at home we are not beating any of the rest. A bunch of you are saying we are going to beat Fsu, I think these are the same people who went with their hearts and said we would beat Ga.

Hopefully we see some coaching changes in the off season. Billy doesn’t seem to be like Mullen and keep his underperforming buddies around.

OC/ST coaches desperately needed and that’ll probably mean losing one of the line coaches. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Agree with you 100% The Dawgs have always recruited well and have done it better since Kirby signed on!

Not that it matters, Richt left the Dawgs in 2015. It is hard to believe that Kirby has been there for 8 seasons. In those 8 seasons Kirby/Dawgs have finished no worse than 6th in the top recruiting classes. All the other season had the Kirby/Dawgs finished no lower than 4th. There were 2 or 3 season where they finished first.

Sure, beating Arky is important to insure a .500 regular season. Despite UFs deficiencies, at home, great shot to win.

Clearly underdogs in the next three.

I'm a big more stoic and patient than most.
I won't begin sharpening my criticisms until next season.

Was hoping for a more even contest against UGA but UF is not there yet.

Should UF survive Arky I would like to think UF could upset one of those last three to garner that 7th win.

That's my current hope and expectation, that and continued success in recruiting and building the culture.

 

what’s crazy is that we have the talent to compete and beat the teams on our remaining schedule but still have enough deficiencies and inconsistencies to lose out as well.

i’m with you about this year, it sucks to lose but i mean everyone knew before the season that going into the Arky game at 5-3 was where we wanted to be. We didn’t think Missouri would be this good (so far), LSU’s offense to take off, and Arky to be this bad so that makes the remaining slate seem daunting.
