It’s not like Hamas has a strict age requirement to join. Not all kids in Gaza should get a pass, plenty under the age of 18 will fight for Hamas’ cause.

How many years of not having an election until an elected government becomes not a truly elected government? I mean, we refer to Hitler as a dictator, and, by the end of World War II, they had a more recent election than Hamas. I get that the point of legitimizing Hamas as a government is to make it easier morally to kill civilians, but Hamas is not really an elected government at this point.

Well, that’s why “free Palestine” should mean to free them from Hamas, not free them from Israel. Too bad so few seem to understand that.

I suspect they also perceive the Israelis as oppressors, not without reason

Why do we almost NEVER see this? All we see is Israel is colonist. River to the sea, etc… Israel bad ( we just don’t talk about hamas)…

So you’d prefer we use nuclear weapons rather than fight wars the way we have been since Nagasaki?

I'd like to hear more of what that looks like, honestly. How is Gaza run after Hamas is no longer able to hold power? The lack of talk about that seems like a pretty big omission.

They need to be freed from both. Israel has helped prop up Hamas because Netanyahu felt it weakened the Palestinians by having opposing governments in Gaza and the West Bank, rather than a unified front. Unsurprisingly, when people feel like they're already being oppressed by a foreign government, they're going to be more focused on that government than the awful people in power who are using the conflict to further their own personal causes.

Israel sends in its elite troops to Gaza after 'bunker buster' bombs destroy Hamas' network of tunnels: Fierce gun fights erupt as Benjamin Netanyahu vows to 'eliminate' terror group and 'bring back' hostages | Daily Mail Online

'We moved to the next stage in the war,' defence minister Yoav Gallant said as daybreak revealed hundreds of destroyed buildings.

'Last evening the ground shook in Gaza. We attacked above ground and underground. The campaign will continue until further notice.'

In a press conference last night, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel was fighting its 'second war of independence' and it would be a 'long war'.

And where were all the protestors calling for Hamas to be outed? Where were our (us) elected officials grandstanding in outrage at what Hamas was doing to the Palestinians? It’s been crickets and you know it. Oh, they cheered and grinned and were happy when Hamas sent rockets into Israel to kill Jews.. but not a peep about how terrible Hamas was treating the Palestinians

When did Israel turn over the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians? How many times has Israel come tot he table with a peace treaty, a two state proposal only to have the Palestinians turn away?
I don’t think Nuttyyahoo is a good man or leader… but Palestinians and Hamas have shown over and over that Israel needs to look after its own interest first. I mean, it’s not like killing Jews and destroying Israel is in the Hamas charter or anything. Of course Israel wants keep the leadership in Gaza weak. The people there absolutely want to destroy Israel. Hell, Palestinians around the world, not under the control or influence of Hamas or Israel still want Israel destroyed. From the River to the Sea means just that.
It’s the most sever and obvious case of racism on the planet today.

That’s ridiculous. We dont win wars anymore because we fight unwinnable wars without a clear military objective.

What was their choice other than hamas?
    When was that?
Have they had free elections since or are they subjects of strongmen at this point?
