Look at our recruiting though - if that isn't buying in I don't know what is. I also think we just ran into a Goliath today - period. Losing sucks and it's perfectly fine to vent afterwards. But other than some of the dumb play calling - I really like where we're going....
Recruiting has improved but it’s still not close to UGA level. That juggernaut is going to be there for the foreseeable future.
Agree but the point I was making is about "buying in" to our program. We are #3 in the country right now.
You don’t just need buy in from the university brass. You need buy in from the state leadership as well. Have you ever heard of the Kirby law in Georgia? Previously, public university athletic departments only had 3 days to respond to freedom of information requests. Since 2016, when the law was signed, they now have up to 90 days to respond. Helps you get your stories straight before going on the record. Kirby Smart personally lobbied the state legislature for this law. For comparison, all federal agencies have a maximum of 20 days to respond. I’ve never heard of a head coach at UF lobbying the state legislature to pass a law the greatly benefits the football program.
A disappointing loss, but, it is a total rebuild. I still think the year after next is the one. We'll see. Proud of the kids. As mentioned, ya can't have any errors against the best. That first drive was a thing of beauty. We might be able to squeak out seven wins this year. It won't be easy. I wonder what the viewership was today? Oh well. At least Gator gals don't bark! Go Gators
No. 1 Georgia reminds these Dawgs can't be tricked in silencing Florida, reigniting three-peat pursuit
On the road for the first half, listening on the radio. Paraphrasing Shane Matthews' call before the play, something to the effect of - just pound it thru there, if we can't get a few inches here we don't deserve to be on the field Not that it matters but I 100% agree. Bad call and bad execution
If we could close the talent gap and depth gap then it’s down to coaching. Right now I don’t think we have as good of a staff as Georgia. Time will tell.
I just got back from the game. Man, what a promising start. Crowd was nuts after that first touchdown. Props to UGA for shutting us down pretty much the rest of the game. I didn't think they could score that much without Bowers. We absolutely have to regroup and win the next one, not an easy one by any means.
We are young. Our players will get better. And we will recruit better players as well. A rebuild takes time. We have a great recruiter and a sound staff now. All we need is time. We will be back! If that does not work then there is Louis Leipold!
Need huge upgrades on the OL and defense. Beck hardly broke a sweat because we had 0 pass rush and were a step slow darn near every play.
I’m still not totally convinced Cbn can win at Florida structuring the program like Georgia/Bama/Ohio st. The idea that you out recruit and crush your comps like a bug regardless of scheme. Those schools spend more money and have one priority - no academics, not volleyball, not all sports…. Football. Idk that he can do that here. Maybe? Remains to be seen. We have a great class but it’s still not stacked in the trenches or game breakers… idk. They’re really good at evaluating talent so I’m hopeful… but the guys who have won at Florida had a schematic edge… which we do not currently. If you don’t have players that scare you… ya better have an OC that will
Are we at a better place than ta&m? Dumbo is a proven recruiter. Is his coaching staff not as good as Billy’s? I think at this point all we have is hope. We hope that billy could have sustained recruiting success and if that works his staff would be better than dumbo’s.
You mean the QB who trolled us and then signed with the mutts? Tip your cap away bro, but I won't be with you.
We don't live in Georgia friend. Our state legislature isn't only there to support UF football. Did you just move here from Hawaii or something?
