People like to forget Kirby lost to maclwein twice. There is a reason Saban and smart won titles and it isn't some schematic advantage or superior coaching technique. They knew the NCAA wouldn't touch them anymore and they knew their universities, cities and states would do anything to win titles so they were able to skirt rules, have unending budgets for facilities and outright pay players and families with no fear of reprisal. The dude has stacked talent that no one but Bama can compare except maybe OSU and a couple others. Sure a generational guy like Spurrier can offset some talent deficiencies but even spurrier wasn't challenging for titles until some Uber talented kids started showing up at every position.
Noticed in this game and several other games today. Teams are putting big sheets on poles up behind their signal callers to shield them from eyes in the coaching boxes upstairs. Everyone is well aware of signalgate hey.
We have gotten out physicalled by a number of teams in recent years. Keep hoping we close that gap. 5-2 wisky looks closer than 5-2 gators. Didn’t expect to win, but keep expecting more out of the big butts. Also need quicker plays to use wr speed, mif we have any.
It wouldn’t be IF YOU MOVE FAST IN THE PORTAL. None of our portal moves for this season, outside of Cam Jackson and Mertz, have made a noticeable difference. When’s the last time Caleb Banks popped off your screen?
I'm wondering how much fsu tampered to get so many early portal commitments. I'm just guessing so I'm probably wrong but it seemed like they were closing on all their key pieces early in the portal process. Their recruiting is only now upticking but prior to this year they had to rely on portal players more than anyone. Seems like this was a concerted and planned approach knowing their recruiting sucked.
1000% buy in from top to bottom at UGA/Athens. That’s what you see. Do you see that at UF/Gainesville?
I think it's clear by now to anybody who pays attention that this board is not the place for anything negative.
After the whole Michigan situation came to light, it makes you think. How many other coaching staffs are doing this. If Michigan gets off scott free then it sets a big precedent. Just get a staffer tickets to teams on your schedule and get pics of their signals. You can’t prove it without the phone the pics are on and the NCAA has no authority to confiscate personal communications devices.
Yep, every trick play looks exactly how you said. I think Mertz has been great as a QB for us this year, but he has the worst sell on every PAP and these tricks.
It is not set in stone, the class could change greatly in the next two months. Then if we have only 6 or 7 wins next year it will be tough to pull in a great class. I'm hoping for the best.
I don’t. You think Kirby comes to UF and builds a program like he has at UGA? I don’t. Has the administration ponied up more money? Sure. When I mean buy in, I mean every facet. I’m not mad about it, it’s just how I see it. It’s why I’m not too upset about the state of the program.
Its something we never saw. It clearly was practiced. I believe it was the wrong call at the wrong time. One would have multiple plays for the situation they were in. That play was not for that situation. It was a poor decision.
Maybe an empty stadium a few home games would change their minds . I don’t necessarily agree with that because we definitely should still support the players but I agree it starts at the top .
