Both Ol and Dl need to complete re-works. That’s where we’re behind. Plenty of skill players, but this game is won and lost in the trenches usually.

Didn't we get about 3 o line from there..one from. Bama, one from Baylor and 1 from. UK that left because mom has cancer..

 

Portal. Gotta knock it out of park. Freshman need 2-3 years to impact games.

 

We’re actually lucky that we have the transfer portal these days. If we had build these lines from high school players, we would be several years out. Hopefully could convince some solid line players to come from other teams. Lots of skill players around them, and the future is bright.

 

I do believe we might be a little overly sensitive round here about constructive coaching criticism for guys that get paid millions to do a job. If we aren’t praising the good and talking about the bad what is the point of a forum. Don’t think we ever need to get personal with it but shouldn’t be discouraged from talking about it.

It’s not just the talent on the field.
The team played listless on D and it’s not the first time this year.
USCe is not a good team.
we looked completely unprepared on Defense, yet again..

 

To me, that is the critical area of need for progression. Thank God for the portal so we don’t have to trying to develop high school players into lineman.

I know they are not all OL but I’m saying differently in that we need portal guys that are impactful in several different areas.

 

So yes Cherry was an acc ref and he did our natty game vs Oklahoma.
It was Black Jack Childress who was the ACC top ref then and reffed the Swindle. It was his crew and he knew exactly what he was doing.

 

You hit it on then head. Gotta grab impactful portal guys. Next year we need 8-10 to compete w our schedule with 4/5 being major producers.

 

Well get those 9 inches and you still have to drive half the field. Seems the same people that like to criticize conservative play are going to complain about that play. I'd do it every time. The only reason it didn't work was UGA played it extremely well. Yeah, that same D you have to drive down the field against after getting those 9 inches.

 

That’s why I think we’ve gotta get the line players out of the portal as opposed to high school recruiting.

Don't know what game you watched. Etienne getting tackled one on one in the open field has nothing to do with talent, right? Even our successful plays had UGA D all over them. 5 star talent has nothing to do with that? It has everything to do with that.

 

i’m not saying that the reffing was good. But that’s not why we got our butts whipped. We played a far superior team with much more experience.
