Bookmarking this thread so I can remember what happened tomorrow. Nevermind my texts are literally getting leghumped right now. The boys showed fight, just came up a little short on might. Won't be for long! Go Gators!
It was a great start but Georgia isn't USCe. They aren't the #1 rated team for nothing. I just thought we lost it in the LOS and Georgia just wakes up in these type of games. We did score 20 points and only UAB has scored more on them this year (1 point more). For all of the Mertz haters, he had the best game of any QB this season against Georgia so far.
I always say it isn't the play calling in many instances, but the execution of the play..if it had been done correctly, maybe a different outcome..and everyone would be praising the call..
I thought the two trick play calls really killed us. The first we were moving the ball just fine and it set us back. The second was baffling. Just line up and push. If we can't move it less than a foot, so be it. Actually, though...those two things probably just hastened the inevitable. UGA is just much, much better than us right now. I still think we'll be bowl eligible by this time next week and perhaps carry that momentum to at least one more win before we close the regular season.
Well, to be fair, from 1993-1996, Georgia was 22-22-1. It was the Ray Goff era. Of this we are absolutely certain!
The only weak spot in my opinion in his rebuild. He fixes stuff. Not fixing our OL issues will be a major red flag.
Don't worry, Kirby will probably leave & the UGA admin will decide that they had enough success & don't have to maintain the program. In five years UGA will be middle of the pack at best & a decade later will be trying to fight their way back to the top.
Dude, we had to move it two feet not one. He tried to catch them off guard which you have to do when your team is overmatched. I don't have a problem with it. They were all over it which is shocking to me. That was the right time to call that play.
24 and 25 recruiting classes combined with a true OC and I feel good about where we will be sitting. Lots of positives laying under the obvious flaws on the OL/DL and playcalling.
I heard some chatter about how hard UGA practices... supposedly harder than any other team in college football... By next year we should have enough depth to go full on maniac in practice. Right now we don't have the depth...
The over turned ball spot and early turnovers really did damage. Could have been a different game. Better team won, move on to the next game, hopefully with better results.
