It’s the state I stop in to get gas, food and take a pee in while driving to SC! Only thing positive about it!
The ABB might have adopted Macon as their hometown, but I think Gregg might have rooted for the good guys.
I was born in Augusta Georgia and spent my early school years in WarnerRobins. My family moved to Florida my freshman year in high school. I remember Georgia in a simpler time when you left the front door unlocked and the keys in the car. Most folks went to church on Sunday and Saturday night entertainment was listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio. Back then Georgia was a good, safe place to grow up. Most of my family is still there and I have many fond memories of family reunions and visits with my Memah and Pepah. Great place and time.
Had a pal who lived in Buckhead. On the river there. That was nice. I remember Powers Ferry Road was super nice. I think the governor's mansion was up that way. Nice country. In the early 80's we used to go up to the Limelight Club. Crazy place. Been to a few Bluegrass festivals up there too. Allman Brothers Band. Man, the first time I saw them was at 'The Image' in Miami. (Some of you old-timers might remember that) I was standing right in front of Duane. No stage, they were just set up on the floor. Athens had : REM Gainesville had: Petty It's all good. Love the south. I really miss it. Go Gators- Beat the Dawgs!
Coke comes from their. Accentuates my rum nicely. That's about all I can muster. I hope we shit all over their dreams today.
You tell people about what hurts, where it hurts, and what's bothering you, when they ask you "how are you/howdy?" too?
I seem to be misunderstanding this post. Setting ABB aside, Skynyrd, Hatchet, Blackfoot and 38 Spec'l are all Florida bands. What am I missing here?
