If you really believe this, and I don’t e believe you do, then tell us what you think the government should have done when Trump: (a) was caught with the documents and asked that they be returned, (b) Trump fought the government, (c) ultimately conceded he had a “few” documents, (d) swore under oath he returned all the documents, (e) then started a scheme to hide the documents, (f) moved the documents all over the country, (g) grossly mishandled the documents he claimed he didn’t hold, (h) lied again about the existence of the documents, And (i) was caught red-handed still holding the documents he swore under oath he didn’t have and was caught moving the documents across the states. Forget for the moment the fact that scores of CIA secret agents were serendipitously fund dead or went missing during this time. What did you want our Government to do?!?!?!

While an indictment doesn't mean Trump or his co-conspirators are guilty it does mean that multiple grand juries found probable cause to believe that he committed the crimes with which he was charged and in the case of the Georgia RICO charges four have already admitted their guilt and will most likely testify against the orange god and one in the Florida documents case has flipped on Trump and will also likely testify against him and that's just the beginning. There is your answer, indirect as it is. You can/will create an excuse no matter what he does. I’d have a bit more respect for people that would at least be honest - yeah Trump did these things and he is absolutely awful, but the consequences of 4 more years of Biden would be worse. I would strenuously disagree with it, but at least it’s honest. In 2016 I only half jokingly said I’d take Hillary in a orange jumpsuit over Trump because Trump was so bad.
So we expect the average Joe and Jane to sit on juries and prosecute infinitely more dangerous gang members but we are willing to let our legislature violate their oath because someone might threaten them? So whoever makes the scariest threat gets to write the laws that day?
what is it with maga making threats? Civil war etc. But yes, we all saw on Jan 6th how violent maga can be. (Not all repubs or the “rinos” as maga calls them.) To the degree maga believes in conspiracy theories, there isn’t any logic that can be used with them. It’s why Fox lied to them to keep ratings high. Wow. It is so common for officials with security clearances to have inadvertently retained some sensitive documents that there is a word for it...."spillage." To indict someone for the conduct there has to be more. One key factor in determining whether or not criminal intent is indicated is the person's actions when they are made aware they might be in possession of such documents. Biden and Pence essentially gave investigators the keys to their houses with "search anything, anywhere you like" authorizations. Was there any reporting that subpoenas were needed or that search warrants were ultimately authorized? Any evidence that Biden or Pence moved documents around so that investigators couldn't find them, paid people to move them or tried to arrange for security buildings to be flooded to destroy evidence? If you do not see the differences in those situations, you have become too jaded to analyze situations and you really shouldn't try anymore. And what is with these threats? Is that the new MAGA SOP?
To underscore the point, Trump was not charged with taking the select documents that he returned; he was only charged for the ones he concealed. It is amazing how willing Trumpeteers are to ignoring clear lines of easy distinctions.
