Looks like Michigan wasn’t a top four team either. Maybe they didn’t steal tcu’s plays and it cost them.

The same way you don't judge a team's season by a loss in Sept/Oct I don't judge a teams season based 1 game against one of the best teams ever assembled. Same way the Nebraska outcome didn't mean UF sucked either.

The best four teams didn’t get in . Just my opinion. Going in, it seemed right but in the end, Georgia played better teams than TCU.

Everything TCU did up to that point said they earned it, and deserved to be there. Some teams just sh!t the bed when they get there. And some teams are just that good …GA being one of them.

Georgia played better teams than TCU. The four best teams are supposed to be in the playoff and TCU clearly was not one of them. I thought they were the right pick going in but afterward I felt there were better teams. That’s why we play games on the field instead of voting for national champions anymore. We all have opinions and tge games settle the facts. As someone mentioned 95? I thought we belonged in that game but maybe not. Maybe someone else was better than us that year.

We need that same intensity in all aspects of the game. I believe then we stand a good chance to win this game. Not all 100% in and I don't see us winning.

I’m trying to believe but they absolutely crushed Kentucky. I think we are too young and not physically developed enough to man up just yet. I do have my hopes up a bit and hope I’m not disappointed. Please baby Jesus, the hell with Georgia.

I hear ya, and feel the same way. I don't think we can stand toe to toe with their talent. Napier is working on that which is such a nice thing to see cause God knows the last 2 coaches dropped the ball (No Pun Intended) when it came to recruiting.

My point is we have no chance with mistakes and only a chance if we play good football.

    Go Gators!

I don’t think it’s just talent. We have some talent to pull an upset but they are too young in my opinion. It’s not their lack of talent, it’s 22-23 year olds that have been in the college weight room for 3-5 years along with naturally becoming a man which doesn’t happen for many at 18-19 years old. A couple years of natural physical development at that age is night and day. Our same players in another year or two won’t look like the same kids.

So, quick review, this is a ‘what if’ thread discussing the playoff implications if Florida beats the five ranked teams (assuming an SEC championship game win) left to play? So we end up with wins against six ranked teams? Because with the big win on the road, with a last-second touchdown against an unranked S Carolina team this is now a realistic scenario?

I think this is why Florida fans often get panned by the press. I really like the progress this team is showing, but the likelihood of this happening is roughly the same as Napier inventing a Time Machine and going back to the Utah game for a win.

I’ll be thrilled if this team wins two of the remaining games and keeps the UGA game competitive for three quarters. This season isn’t set up for wins, way too many ranked teams and a young team. I’m just hoping to see continued progress.

    2 thoughts:

    1. You give half a shit what the press thinks of us?

    2. 2006 was not 'set up for wins'; it was a ball breaker schedule going in.

I distinctly remember that year they issued season cards with both the '06 and '07 seasons on them rather than just the '06 season. It was like automatically looking to the following year, because it looked so greuling.

You do recall how '06 played out, no?

    BELIEVE!

I’ve criticized coach plenty this season and still think that we aren’t progressing as we should. That being said I have a sneaky feeling that we pull the upset today. Then this thread will be on fire and we will all be talking about playoffs!

Last year was unusual in the way we lost out and had players seemingly give up on the season. Thought we might do better after that dominating South Carolina win last year. Difficult to predict how season will end. Missouri, UGA, LSU and FSU will put up a lot of points. Can we keep pace? We should beat Arky but know they will try to run down our throats and have a new OC.

If we win this game today, we are clearly progressing far ahead of schedule.
