Who's ass? Is that a reference to 2006? Teams are different every year, heck most are different every week. Just because X beat Y last year doesn't mean the same result will happen again.

As far as UGA, if the scenario that was laid out comes to be what is their signature win? Ole Miss at home? They would be amongst the least deserving 1 loss teams.

A 13-2 football record would be incredible... I love dreaming too. :)

As for the game in Jacksonville... I just hope our defense plays like they did in the last 3 minutes of the USCe game... all game long.

That's the type of defensive intensity and focus we need just to stay in games the rest of the way forward.

I'll take the entirety of the TN game, by far the most complete performance.

Personally we need to play one game at a time and set expectations realistically. win 7 games this year would be a successful year.

Bs. They are the two time defending champs and if they are the sec champs again, that says it all. The sec wins almost every year regardless of record and there’s no transcedent team out there that makes me think they can win it all. Georgia is the heavy favorite until someone beats them. Oregon, fsu, osu, not likely.

This. We're so young at many positions that just getting two more wins will be a challenge. Can't expect FR to play like upperclassmen against teams that can match talent. Mistakes (bad reads, missed assignments, etc) will be made and in some cases, we need another year in the wt room. Unfortunately, Ne-gators will be out on these boards in force with anything but an 8 win season even though future is bright.

We seem to be discussing 2 separate things, I'm talking about if UF runs the table and wins the SEC (The dream scenario on which this thread is based). In the world where UGA losses to UF and thus never goes to Atlanta, do you believe they would still be worthy of a playoff selection? And if so based on what merit from THIS season?

They are young and need to physically develop to play the puppies. This is a tall order physically.

If we beat Georgia, Fsu and then either bama or lsu or whoever wins the west, he’ll yes we deserve to be a top four team in tge country.

We would have one of the, if not the, most impressive set of wins in the country to be sure. We would simultaneously have 2 bad losses too, when I say bad I mean by double digit scores, one of which I would argue was a blowout. Would be quite the debate.

Oh, they would debate but we would have probably beat half the top ten. They would argue that fsu is a one loss team and we just beat their ass.

For fun, what if Utah finishes with the same record? They still have to play both Oregon and Washington and presumably add in a rematch in the conference title game. Trying to be neutral, could you justify UF over UU in that scenario?

I’d say we are a vastly improved team from the team tgat Utah faced and we would trash them. Yet this is imago because we aren’t vastly improved and we are likely to face the reality that we need a couple more years to get on Georgias level. Georgia won’t sleepwalk through the game tomorrow like they did several games this year. We are going to see playoff hyped puppies tomorrow.
But yes, if we win out, we are a much better team end of the year than anyone thought possible and no one would want us.

Idk. Beating 6 ranked teams changes things. Has that happened before, in the playoff era? And 2 of them in the top 5. I think it’s a nobrainer…. even for the playoff committee.

They will know we are a top four team but they left Bama out last year in favor of TCU who got the worst beating in the history of bowl games. They knew tgat was coming and they knew Bama was the better team. Of course everyone is against the sec but leaving the sec champ out is ridiculous. The like leaving the afc champ out of the Super Bowl because the lost in September and October.

A lot of people seem to give the committee more credit than I do I guess. There will be relentless pressure to not include the SEC in the 1 year from now until the end of time that they will ever have any chance of not including the SEC.

Edit: of course this is all hypothetical and exceedingly unlikely anyways.

There are a bunch of chickenshits in this world that would love to avoid the inevitable asswhoopin if they can justify it in their minds. They get an asterisk if they run and hide.

Maybe I’m an outlier, but I thought TCU belonged.

If they had lost to Michigan like they did to UGA, I would say they didn't, but I too didn't have an issue with them getting in. They were a great story.

Georgia showed they didn’t. They took to worst beating in history.
