Whatever bro. Just don't forget that yall planted these seeds, and you will reap the harvest you planted. Forget Biden n da Shill--theyre too damn old to bother with. Your harvest will yield next time the dems produce a promising young buck....it'll be open season! ....and yall will get to point at the orange haired trophy on your mantle, and reminisce upon the good ol days, when you were part of the lynch mob. PS--Trump ain't the only corrupt politician in DC. PPS--surely you don't think this political assassination is a one off deal, as soon forgotten as it was carried out now, do you? PPPS--What's the symbol of the GOP? What are they known for?
If you are going to be realistic, any Republican that votes outside of MAGA rank and file will have death threats to themselves and their families. Not one damned thing Democrats can do about that. That is the total bottom line with Republicans. And the very definition of Fascism.
Don’t you think maybe Trump bears some responsibility? You know, guy who has been found liable/guilty for: 1. sexual abuse; 2. Defrauding Veterans under the guise of a fake charity; 3. Defrauding the State of New York and its lenders by lying on his financials. And, the same guy who: 1. Through his own lies, arrogance, obstruction and gross neglect, lied about holding national security documents and refused to return them (after lying about whether he held them, all while recklessly maintaining their security 2. Lied about losing an election (which we know beyond a shadow of a doubt he lied because the documentation establishes he was told by every one who investigated the issues they were untrue), AND THEN abused his power to try and strong arm states to send phony electorates, and tried ti cause state officials to fabricate votes. This, of course, is without mention of his serial bankruptcies, and morally decrepit actions, all which occurred well before he was even President. So, again, don’t you think maybe Trump has some responsibility for the “witch hunt”?
I will leave out Republicans. Here are some notable Democrats who have been criminally charged. (Edit to clarify that Clinton entered into a deal but not charged). Dan Rostenskowski - charged and convicted. Clinton - plea deal. Rod Blagojevich - charged and convicted. Jim Trafficant - charged and convicted. John Edwards - charged (mixed/hung jury). William Jefferson - charged and convicted. Jessee Jackson, Jr. - charged and pled guilty. Corrine Brown - charged and convicted (initially overturned, followed by subsequent guilty plea). Anthony Weiner - charged and convicted. Bob Menendez - recent indictment.
The faster MAGA and the Republican Party implodes, the better off we’ll all be. Republicans have no one to blame but themselves
Your 1st 3 happened when he was a card carrying libby dem in good stanfing. Why now? Politix. The docs at MAL? He was negotiating, and even if you deny that--they got the docs back. However unseemly, they went in, and retrieved them ( as was their right). Why prosecute? Politix. Contesting the election--only different by quantity than what was alleged about the 2000 & 2026 elections, and J6 was clearly set up as a trap. No attempt to prevent entry at all. So again, it's a political assassination (attempt still, at this point). Spin it as you will, it was conventional wisdom that prosecuting a politicsl foe was taboo, and playing with fire. ...and they've quadrupled down on wiping their asses with taboo. There will be a reckoning. It's patently silly to pretend there won't be any retribution. Enjoy today. This is y'all's day, as the KKK had its day. Just don't forget who drew first blood--who kicked thst wall down--x4! Because that wall worked both ways....as will its absence. Cest la vie.
How do you explain a very small numbers of zealots being able to hold the business of the country hostage? Are we so far beyond compromise that we let the zealots install one of their own into such a powerful position rather than compromise?
I questioned including Clinton after I posted it. My understanding is that he agreed to a fine as well as a suspension of his bar license. The reporting was that he did so to avoid a potential criminal indictment. I don't know if that's technically a plea deal or not, but you're correct that he wasn't charged.
...which adds to the point I'm saying. It was taboo. Also worth noting-- billy Bob was no longer a political foe. And wrt da Shill--Comey laid out an indictments...then promptly usurped prosecutorial discretion from the prosecutor, and basically upheld the tradition. ...and Trump, while in office for 4 years and having the ability to do so (choosing a AG who would commit to prosecuting the Shill), did not. Dems drew first blood. Blood for blood...there will be a bloody reckoning. (NB--I like to think it goes without saying, but these days.... "blood" here is employed figuratively, NOT literally).
One of the Trump indictments is based on something Joe Biden himself has done, the classified documents case. This is so unbelievably transparent I don’t know how people can honestly deny it at this point. I know Trump wasn’t as cooperative as Biden was… but in the real world, going to law enforcement proactively apologizing isn’t an effective legal strategy for violating the law. You rob a bank then go to the cops apologizing for robbing the bank, you’re probably not getting off scott free.
The split is intent. Intent is a defense against many crimes both by law and in practice. Lying to investigators is itself evidence of intent. He intended to keep them and was willing to lie (and have others lie) to make that happen. That is intent. Cooperating even when it is not necessarily helpful to you politically is evidence of a lack of intent. If a person walks in and says that they have a gun and to give them the money, that person intended to do it. If, instead, the bank just gives a person extra money without that person realizing it and they return the money when they find out, nobody is going to argue that they robbed the bank. Despite the fact that both walked out of the bank with more money than they were supposed to have.
I’m fairly certain that is what the laughably thin Biden impeachment investigation and Hunter’s laptop clusterchuckle are 100% about. 0 for 2 Next deflection
How many trips to the batter's box do Republicans get? First it was Russia collusion, then his tax returns, then obstruction for the Russia collusion that never happened, then the incitement where he called people to peacefully protest, then the rape allegations from decades ago, then the classified documents case where Joe Biden had to scramble because he realized that he had been doing the same thing, then the telephone conversations with Ukraine and Georgia... I can go on and on... The man's still standing and still threatening Joe Biden's Presidency after all that... Do Republicans have that many attempts before something sticks?
I wager many more are about to get charged in the not so distant future who happen to have greater political ambitions in front of them rather than behind them. When that happens, I don't want to hear any cries about political motivation. This, unfortunately, will be the new status quo.
There's also a lot of historical precedent. There are a lot of cases of accidental classified doc spillage that if the person cooperates fully with the Feds in returning what is known, and allowing full access to investigate for more docs, charges are rarely, if ever filed. This is true for both Biden, Pence, and many others throughout history. On the other hand, if there is no cooperation and obvious intent not to cooperate, charges will be filed. To continue your analogy, if the bank finds out it accidently gave too much money to the person at a bank, asks for its return, and gets every dime back, no charges will be filed. The person with the gun with full intent to rob the bank will always get charged, even if all the monies are voluntarily returned.
