I liked Walkabout too. Roeg definitely had an eye for visuals in his films.

Don’t Look Now starred Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland.

    Walkabout was also good.

Was asking if Robert Ray taught the class. Very cool professor. He was in a band with some of his students.

Sorry. I can’t remember who taught the class. It was the only what I had from him. If I think about it long enough, it might come back.

One interesting thing was on the first day of class, he felt the need to explain to us why his face looked so bad. He was doing one of the early skin cancer treatments and told us that after six weeks, his face would fall off and he would be beautiful again.

Some people in the class were offended by that, but I thought it was perfectly natural. Having done a similar treatment myself multiple times over the years, I fully understand now his need to explain it.

I recently watched an Israeli movie about the 1948 Arab-Israeli war: Image of Victory. It is subtitled. It is based on the true story of an attack on a kibbutz in the south. However, some individual characters in the movie are inventions. Some of the invented characters do certain actions that were done by real people.

The interesting thing about this movie is it is told both from the viewpoint of residents of the kibbutz, as well as from the viewpoint of an Egyptian movie maker sent to film the attack.

Watched Kill List last night. I thought there were some original and cool things going on. Definitely entertaining.

I liked how it changed up at the end.
Did you piece the whole thing together? I had to read up on it a little afterwards and it all makes sense.
    I’m trying not give spoilers.

I am considering reading up about the ending in particular. Felt like I was kinda piecing it together but still have questions! Good recommendation. I like movies that don't follow the predictable path.

Ben Wheatley has been on my radar but I dont think I've seen any of his movies. I guess I will have to see Kill List and A Field in England (which I have never bitten the bullet on despite being on my list for years now).

Hope you didn’t read my previous post. I may delete it due to the spoilers.
I have a field in England queued up now.

I think there is a spoiler button on here that I don't believe I've tried to use.

    Surprise!!!

    I deleted that post anyways.
So did you come to the same conclusion that I laid out on that deleted post? Did you catch all the clues?

    Yeah.

I knew something was up when the crazy woman was carving the symbol into the back of the mirror early on. The people thanking him for killing them was weird, and not sure exactly what they knew or when. What I couldn't tell at the end is whether the guy was cool with being the leader despite having to kill his family. I thought he might flip out and kill them all, but he may have finally gotten the job and respect he wanted!

I caught You’re Next the other day.
It had a twist plot so I tried it out.
I pretty much saw it coming and wouldn’t really recommend.
    Seen worse though.

When I saw that I was expecting something completely different tonally, that was the twist for me. I wasnt into The Guest either, completely off tonally for me after a really promising start and interesting setup. I think I'm just not a fan of the director or whatever his vibe is.

I actually enjoyed the guest, but I didn’t have high expectations either.
It should be noted that I actually saw a movie that you missed! Kill List. Lol.
