Good Lord. This has to be the most depressing sorry-ass thread in a long time. This is NOT the last two years Georgia Team. It isn't! Are they good? Well, duh. But Bower's is out, this is the first cocktail party for their QB. They've had close games this year, sure they won, but heck. We have people back for this game, two Offensive linemen. That's pretty significant. Mertz, Tre, Pearsoll, Bordingham, Johnson, Etienne, etc ... How about all the years we beat them when we weren't ranked and they were ranked super high? It's there for the taking. Do I think we'll win. Crap, I hope so. Statistical data and 5 star players don't win games. The players do. It's a game of emotion. If Appalachian frigging State can beat Michigan, the Gators can beat Georgia. I hope the players believe in themselves. I hope the growth has continued last week and this week. I hope the team wins this one for them. If they do it for themselves, we'll get to celebrate too. Gators 34 Dawgs 24 Go Gators.
Pretty certain Michigan didn't take their game against App State as seriously as the dogs will take us for this game. That being said, you are correct in all that you say but I see nothing but uncertainty with our team. I don't know which team shows up. One that's ready to fight or what we say against Kentucky. I'm not sure that one come from behind win is enough to Jell a team but I sure am hoping. If we play our best game we have a chance to win, if not I don't see us having any chance. Hoping we play our best game. And If we do and we don't win then I will accept the fact that we were beaten by a more talented and better team. The hardest losses to take are when we don't even compete and this years Kentucky game comes to mind. I find it a bit curious how Kirby has consistently brought in top recruiting classes since he has been there. This makes me think he must have learned something from being at Alabama. I can't speculate but it does seem a bit strange. I recall an article I read when he (Kirby) was on the speaking tour emphasizing to the Alumni how much support they needed to recruit great talent. I always wondered what "Support" meant? The Georgia "G" on the helmet doesn't make my stomach sick like it did before Spurrier. However, the reasons to Hate Georgia are all still there. From how they won during WWll to the crap Vince Dooley would pull to keep his team out of trouble with the NCAA. Winning this game would be awesome especially with the difference in talent. We will be back at a level playing field with them soon, I can feel it. This Gator team is our 1980 Olympic Hockey Team. GO GATORS!
Taking a look at the numbers from game one through game seven we have played three common opponents, South Carolina, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt. Other than Kentucky, which they blew out, the other two teams weren’t too much different. They’re leading receiver for four of their seven games is Bowers And obviously he is out. Carson Beck averages more than 300 passing yards per game but I expect that to drop without Bowers. Georgia has turned into a passing team according to their stats and average just over 40 points a game only giving up 14 points per game. What I do also see is a pattern against SEC teams, other than Kentucky, Georgia seems to play a little bit closer with. The only blowout of an SEC team was Kentucky. We really do have to bring our A game and if we do, we have a chance, even if they play good football as well. I think it’s a little bit more of a low scoring ballgame, especially for them without bowers. I also think with the emergence of Trey smack we have an advantage with field goals as their kicker is 80% and only 1-3 from 20 to 29 yards. Prediction, they have a missed field goal and a turnover on downs inside the red zone for the gators to pull out this victory. Florida 27 Georgia 20
I don't like saying this and i am often wrong in these threads. I think with the playoff rankings coming out Tuesday, and with a lot of our recruits at the game, UGa is going to come out fast and effective in order to blow us out. For all intents and purposes over early, and it will be a matter of how badly they want to embarrass us. The kind of game that fuels hatred for decades. If we can survive the first quarter relatively unscathed with a defensive stop or two, then we might be able to keep the final respectable. But looking at the teams, I don't see a single place where we have an advantage. Worst people on the planet: 49-14
Georgia has proven that they will sleep walk in games they don't care about. Kentucky came in ranked and they dropped a 50 burger on their head. This is a game UGA will be wide awake from the start. Our defense has proven to be too young to be consistent for the 4 quarters we will need in this game. UGA 38 UF 14
As fine a laundry list of dread, doubt and despair as I've seen thus far this week. Oh, I almost forgot about being disconsolate, deeply disconsolate. Sheesh.
Agreed. For all the same reasons, UGA 38-20. I know Bowers makes a big difference, that's why I'm only limiting them to 38.
The Gator's passing game and WR's surprise the dogs. Running game benefits from the improved passing attack. The Gator D struggles, couple of big plays, but bends without breaking with some key stops. Toss in Smack's 3 FG's, and a 2 point conversion and the Gators win 38-37 with Smack's 3d FG at the end of the game.
