I guess that depends on your perspective. I was born in Augusta, GA at Camp Gordon and lived there for a minute and have not been back. I moved multiple places over the next 18 years. When ppl ask where I'm from, I say Georgia. If they ask what part, I say Brunswick (where I went to HS), not Augusta.
My sister and her husband have 40 acres in North Georgia... Lol... on the river where they filmed part of the movie Deliverance.. Georgia woman a smokin' HOT!
Colonel Poole’s BBQ, Elijay, Ga Gotta love the Peeg Mobile and the Hill of Fame (BBQ is quite good in addition to the quirky atmosphere)
August 1988 Jump school NCO 2 man air conditioned rooms But……. 1985 Parris Island June July August in unairconditioned WW2 barracks I did my time in hell lol
Well you wouldn’t compare Buckhead to Palatka, sure. I think that goes without saying. Apples to apples, though, Georgia will be significantly cheaper.
I’m from Lake Mary area, when I moved to GA in 2017, there was a difference, GA was cheaper. But now, I’m not seeing it when you compare similar areas. the real savings is in hazard insurance. much cheaper here in GA.
Probably has to do with my German heritage that I prefer precision. Whenever anyone asks where I'm from - it's always "Born in California, lived there for a year, then re-located to Norfolk until I was 15, then re-located to Florida where I finished high school, and have been here ever since." That way they have the entire picture. You come from a military family? Thanks for your service!
I agree with that. I'm the same way. I was born at Irwin army hospital in Fort Riley, KS. By 6 months old I was living in Germany, 2.5 years later I was in Ft. Bragg, by the time I was 5 yrs old I had moved to central Florida where I remained till I was 20. I consider kissimmee/st. Cloud where I'm from because I spent all my school years there as a was growing up.
