In 2001 I was on vacation in western NC and ran into a Tar Heel fan/prof. He said that they don't hate the Gators for beating them in the previous "Dance" because we beat Duke first when Duke was supposed to be the very best team.

Well, Chrissie went back there but she said it was gone, replaced by shopping malls. Muzak filled the air.

 

I lived in North Carolina for twenty years. NC fans don’t think about anybody else, except themselves. Yes, they hate Duke, like we do. They don’t consider Wake Forest or East Carolina as worthy. Florida isn’t on their Radar either, but I feel we are going to get some national attention this year.

 

UF is a higher ranked university than UNC in four the five most popular college ranking services.

NC’s ranking should have fallen hard when they admitted they let students take fake classes. For some reason it just got completely ignored.
