Whenever McConnell speaks, you need to check the weather report. There could be a hard freeze.

I realize that may be an attempt at humor but the reality that the machine is having this be how he is remembered is a disservice to him and others that are ridden to the grave and I just can't find humor in mental illness.

As long as he insists on remaining a public figure, whatever he does in public can be commented on with humor or otherwise. In private, yes, it is sad.

Mentally ill? Trump is mentally ill, and he's ridiculed for it all the time, and rightly so, because he wants to run our damn lives as president of the United States. If he would stay in Mar-a-Lago and leave us alone, then, yes, his illness is sad.

that has be the most ridiculous attempt to distinguish conduct in the history of Gator Country. I read it 3x because I thought I had misread it. It reminds me of this classic movie scene…..

i do not want Harris as the potus.
However is she Inmate Number P01135809? Then that’s one person that’s worse than her. I seriously doubt she’ll give out critical military secrets or do putins bidding.

If it was Trump v. Harris, how long would it be before Trump told Harris to go back where she came from?

I can't see Harris dropping off the ticket, as there is too much invested at this point. She has struggled to find her footing, but based on her Senate tenure she was strategic and substantive, and given another 4 years at VP, I think would be a force in 2028.

With Biden, other than being old, his legislative victories have been substantial, bipartisan, and forward-looking, his administration has strengthened relationships with NATO and SE Asia allies, and he respects the military and intelligence agencies against common enemies. His Cabinet has been stable and they respect his leadership, he gives knowledgeable, policy-driven speeches over important events, understands the delicacy of Democracy and the Constitution and our role in the world. Trump is the opposite to all those things, so to me, there isn't a choice. Republicans need to wake up.

With few rare exceptions, I would prefer to have a former governor in the Oval Office than a Congressperson or Senator. People in Congress / the Senate have the option of ignoring the other political party and working only with their own political party for the most part. A lot of politics is getting people to work together and compromise, and that typically requires executive experience.

And people in a legislative body are generally not held accountable for balancing the budget, like governors and presidents are. Also, governors usually have more experience dealing with other countries, as they sometimes go overseas to represent industries in their back yard to try to make trade deals. I don't think DeSantis does this very much, as Disney doesn't need any help selling itself. Governors usually have more experience with public speaking, also (a minor consideration for me).

I thought that Governor Whitmer would have been a great VP choice. But Harris? I thought she eliminated herself in their debate. As I recall, his choosing her had something to do with his son Beau. Their friendship or something. Which certainly didn't stop her from going after Joe in the debate.

Well sure. Given there was no evidence of large scale election fraud in either 2016 or 2020, those who voted against certification were trying to overturn an election. But 11 individual jackasses in 2016 does not equal a concerted-effort party-wide 147 Republicans in 2020. You are a fool if you think 2016 and 2020 are comparable.

Yes but the sane majority will not be sitting home. Young people will be voting en masse. Old morons are dying.
