Those are are dope imo. I already want to spend my money on one of those jerseys since I already have a blue jersey, white jersey and an orange jersey variation. Time to add a black one to the collection.
Wasn't talking about when SOS was a player. In the 12 years when he was the HBC do you remember a time when the Gators wore "Alternate" uniforms, I don't? I do recall the 1998 LSU game us wearing some kind of strange combination so that LSU had to wear their dark Jerseys. I remember them responding by wearing the most hideous yellow shirts. Tell me when the last time you saw Alabama wear anything but all white or Crimson jerseys and white pants, or the alternate helmet? Go Gators
Well, you somehow managed to miss the entire point.....you comment on "tradition" and Spurrier, then demand nothing but an orange helmet. I simply pointed out the irony that your orange helmet tradition is not traditional at all in the big picture. And when SOS coached at UF alt unis weren't really a thing, I doubt he would have minded changing things up once and a while, he certainly would have liked the throwbacks from his era (usually white helmets). The LSU game was gamesmanship, he only allowed LSU to wear their regualar home white in Baton Rouge if they agreed to let UF wear white in Gville. Not sure how Bama got drawn into a UF conversation. But I notice you didn't mention Notre Dame, Ohio St, Mich, Okla, FSU, Miami and the lions share of programs thru the country that have all done some alternate uniforms. PS.....here's a little snippet from South Carolina uniform history "Three times during Spurrier’s tenure South Carolina has worn special Wounded Warrior-based alternate uniforms, most recently all-grey digital camo makeups at LSU during the 2012 campaign." So maybe now you can imagine SOS allowing it
Folks are going to look back at blackouts like some people look back at avocado appliances and leisure suits.
THE GAME IS A NOON TIME START GAME. LMFAO!. QUICKLY... we need to move the black-out game to the FSU game... That game will be played later than noon time for sure.
No one else is reporting this. Gator twitter/X is still talking about it happening, including team beat writers.
I think the black out is still on, but seems like the college kid who runs that account is speculating that no fans will participate because of the heat
What's funny is the long range forecast for that Saturday is currently showing very cloudy with 15 mph north winds, a high of 75, and a 30% chance of rain for Gainesville. Don't think that is considered hot.
If this game was in August or September, it would stupid to wear black at noon. But in early November?! Would there really be that much of a temperature difference with black jerseys over pads versus the blue jerseys?! My guess is that they wait until they have a better idea of the weather forecast before they decide.
Frankly, I wasn't planning on participating no matter the time. They wanna wear black on the field....that's fine. I'll have blue, orange, and/or white on.
I wear orange & blue. Those are our colors. Besides, the black crap is just a marketing ploy by Nike to sell their merchandise.
I was going to buy a new Gators hat the other day. However, I refuse to pay $35 for a hat where the Nike swoosh is as big as the Gators head on the hat. Unless they're giving UF a huge chunk, which I doubt, I won't be wearing their advertising. I'll airbrush my own Gators stuff. It'll be original and one of a kind.
