Hard to say. The problem is, if anyone says no booster is needed, the idiots among us hear no vaccine necessary at all, and take this position. Dr. Offit is likely correct that a fully vaxxed child with a recent infection doesn't need any more protection. But since he has stated that, people are claiming kids don't need any vaccination at all.

The idiots among us are going to say whatever they want to say based upon whatever motivations they have. Trying to second guess what they will say and modifying the message in anticipation of it being intentionally misconstrued is a fools errand. The problem with that is you end up saying stuff hat isn’t totally true or omitting context and complication for simplicity, which then opens you up to accusations of lack of truthfulness.

It is why I like Offit, he calls it like he sees it, and does not dumb it down.

Dealing with ignorance is a no win scenario. But if someone like Offit calls it like he sees it, and it causes someone not to get vaccinated that would benefit from it, is his calling it like it is helping or hurting?

This is the problem. What you are articulating is what public health officials tried to do, and as the situation changed they ended up tying themselves into knots and at times even looking like liars. What you are suggesting is experts should filter the truth because the masses can’t handle it, and his leads to people not trusting experts.

Vaccines are the leading cause of coincidences.

Offit should shoot straight even this it means some not getting vaxxed. I'd want it no other way, people's ignorance be damned. It's what I'd expect from experts in general. However, let's say Offit was suddenly appointed the head of the CDC and had to be the decision-maker in setting policy as opposed to simply being an expert adviser (to the FDA), his decision might be different than what he as an adviser would recommend. And I'd be good with that too. But that's because Offit as head of the CDC would have to be responsible for dealing directly with that ignorance in a way that Offit as simply an expert does not.

LOL! The benefit of causing inflammation in your body for an antibody boost of a variant that is now no longer out there outweighs the cost…

    LOL!

Yes…he advised his son. Not a kid. To not take the original booster.

yeah, this is just flat out wrong. I’ve worked for a company that sells AEDs since 2017, I promise we had examples of young adults and athletes that suffered sudden cardiac arrest as part of our marketing material for years prior to Covid.

Correct we had two local kids have sudden cardiac arrest while playing sports 2 years before covid, luckily they had AEDs present and both made full recovery.

Not to mention heart attack and sudden cardiac arrest are not the same thing, yet the tweet posted uses them as interchangeable terms.

This is a fair point. My theory is we are causing SMI with these shots. It is an inflammation disease and we are causing inflammation to create an immune response.

And this is a preCovid study to show why it is important to know if we have been causing SMI in millions of people…

Define “plenty.” Then compare to the present excess mortality among the young.
