Which doesn't bode well for her . Actually, nothing bodes well for any lawyer connected to Trump.

As for Powell, potential disbarment and financial ruin thru civil litigation still await. Hard to understand why someone would set themselves up for that scenario. Trump must be a hell of salesman to convince so many to throw away their careers for him.

Yeah, she’s skrude w/r/t her career and likely her savings. She was more tribesman than chief, so this makes sense. And you can bet her plea has plenty of those other defendants thinking.

Seems to this layman that allowing Powell to plead to 6 misdemeanors and having 7 felony charges dismissed suggests prosecutors think her testimony is of high value. Or they're desperate. But I dont think they're desperate.

If the reporting is correct and the judge accepts the state's recommendation, she'll get a series of consecutively run probation sentences on one year each.

How has he convinced millions of Americans to believe, trust and even worship him? Baffling.

I don’t like it, because she is one of the most culpable individuals in the attempted election theft. She’s mostly going to be testifying against underlings. I love to see people accept responsibility, but this seems waaay too light to feature no jail time at all. I suppose I need to remember it’s only state of GA charges, so her culpability here isn’t “big picture” - it’s just what crimes she committed in Georgia and what the state of GA could prove.

I guess logically you expect a bunch more of the underlings to plead guilty now. There’s value in that, saving the state a bunch of trials. Obviously if the top of target is Trump, this is an important state witness. There’s always value in getting guilty pleas, but in terms of criminal liability they are basically letting her walk. Even the fines are a joke.

It is a bit of a gamble for the prosecution. Even if her testimony against the orange one is convincing and damning, it only takes one maga aficionado on that jury to sink their efforts. Then she is getting off for no reason.

warning number 1. how many does he get?

Judge threatens to hold Donald Trump in contempt after deleted post is found on campaign website (msn.com)

Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial judge threatened Friday to hold the former president in contempt, raising the possibility of fining or even jailing him because a disparaging social media post about a key court staffer remained visible for weeks on his campaign website after the judge had ordered it deleted.

Judge Arthur Engoron said the website’s retention of the post was a “blatant violation" of his Oct. 3 order requiring Trump to immediately delete the offending message. The limited gag order, hours after Trump made the post on the trial’s second day, also barred him and others involved in the case from personal attacks on members of Engoron's judicial staff.

Engoron did not immediately rule on potentially sanctioning Trump, the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, but noted that “in this current overheated climate” incendiary posts can and have led to harm.

I think they really believed the coup would work and Trump would pardon them, and create enough doubt in the voting system that the civil suits would fail.
