Did he say that Wilson is our best offensive player?

Mertz and Pearsall seem pretty darn good.

I would say most dynamic versus best. But imagine Wilson after he has had the coaching and experiences Pearsal has had.

One day, yes, Wilson has the talent to be one of the best college football players in the nation. But right now? I would go with Mertz or Pearsall.

I would have a hard time choosing between them. Some catches have been incredible, and Mertz has dropped some dimes.

Tre is more of a "gotcha" kind of player whereas Pearsall is much more polished and reliable on any given situation. Tre will get his time. Just not this year.

Mertz IS the MVG. There is absolutely NO question about it.

Defense is a collective and no player stands out. It is what it is.

Plenty of room for critique, but hard disagree from me on the overall grade of C. Nobody and I mean nobody expected Mertz to be this solid. The author notes development = A and the youth of the team. That youth factors in big time. 5 - 2 at this point is about as good as realistic Gators could have hoped for. I'd give the team a solid B, noting the lack of consistency in the run game and overall on defense.
