Imagine being undefeated this late in the season, you’re highly rated and your opponent is also undefeated and highly rated. You’re psyched for a big game day experience but nooo! Fox has you scheduled for a nooner cause they suck. Personally, I don’t like the Big Ten, I don’t really like Penn State or Michigan but I feel for the everyday fans.
As someone who has been to every big ten stadium except the Minnesota Metrodome and teams added after the early 2000's, the difference in atmosphere between nooner and night really isn't that much. Although a big part of that depends on the time of year too. Early season night games are great, cooler out, then later in the season the colder temps are a negative. It's that time of year when sun out heat of the day is actually preferable.
11am KO in Dallas. One of my really good friends from HS went to Texas and to this day she hates the 11am starts. I mean, everyone gets up for them and still goes, but they don't care for it too much. Tailgating at the LV Bowl last year was...interesting. Maybe 40 degrees outside, windy, and 8am lol.
Big 10 schools have always had big games at noon. Once the time changes in a week or two it’s dark by 4:30 in some of those areas
Those shadows after 3 PM are starting to get pretty long and it's hard to keep warm with the sun. May be something to that. Regardless, my advice is get your butt out of bed and enjoy a weekend night for whatever delite you wish.
Those Big Ten stadiums didn’t install permanent lights until relatively recent compared to the rest of us.
For me a lot of it is that they don’t air SEC games but most of the time I just can’t get interested in any of the games Fox airs. I can’t tell you who any of their commentators are, good bad or indifferent.
