There are 2.1 million in Gaza, so not sure how big or small it is matters. And I haven't moved any goal post. If someone wants to throw reporting out as if its facts, you have to back it up with evidence. The fact that no western journalist isn't at the hospital gathering those facts should be clear that anything that comes out in that area should be taken with a grain of salt. The WHO doesn't qualify and there isn't any proof that there were any WHO reps at the site to even throw a number out to reporters. Complete disinformation based on biases. It's called tribalism.

Posted by the WHO Palastine office 4 hours ago...

World Health Organization (WHO) expresses grief for the horror that occurred at Al Ahli Arab Hospital.
Initial assessment indicates 471 people lost their lives and 342 were injured, including 28 critical injuries.
WHO has documented 136 attacks on health care from 7 to 17 Oct, with 493 people killed and 382 injured in attacks.
Civilians & health care need active protection now.

The WHO also says the reason for the high number is that 100s, or even thousands, of people had amassed in the hospital courtyard because they thought it would be safe there.

Failed analogy. The phrase "many people are saying it" is so vague it's meaningless although it may play well when delivered by a certain skilled comedian with an orange complexion to a crowd of his adoring fans. Attributing a statement to a real specific organization albeit a terrorist organization with serious credibility issues is not the same.

The fact that a large number of people were tightly amassed in a small area also explains why a relatively small warhead (like that of an errant "homemade" Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket) could cause so many deaths.

The problem is Israel has targeted targets with civilian casualties before, and to someone who has a dog in the fight that Israel did this seems plausible. Evidence to the contrary, from the “enemy” is as usual ignored.

This is the no win scenario Israel finds themselves in. They have every right to wipe out Hamas, but if they do it at significant expense to innocent Palestinian casualties it sets them back in their bigger goals to form lasting peaceful relationships with their neighbors.

"Initial assessment" by whom? Who is giving them that information and posting it? Where are the third party folks? Again, the WHO is not a trusted source if their source is a Hamas run hospital.

Hamas has used Palestinians as human shields before so it's conceivable that a botched missile of their own is being used as a tactic to make the world hate Israel. There's no proof of who actually did it so some have already made up their minds.

And yet, Hamas uses homemade missiles made up of whatever parts they can scrounge. It's been said they will make good use of the debris left over from this war. I know they are pretty good at making missiles from water pipes and duct tape, but no one questions their success rate. Of the 8,000 missiles fired already, as many as 1,200 never made into Israel so where did they end up? Gaza?

As I said, the WHO have staff on the ground there ... and I mean, are they not an unbiased third party? What exactly are you looking for here before you believe it?

You are making assumptions that those people were at THAT hospital and that they are reporting legitimate information. It's a circular argument.

Beliefs are feelings and have no place in this case. Facts have to be associated with proof. All I'm asking for is proof that WHO reps were at the hospital, they had time to do an assessment, and reported legitimate facts through a trusted channel. So far I haven't seen that from the media or the WHO.

They didn't have to be at that hospital at the time of the attack to get an accurate body count . What do you think happened? Hamas dumped several truckloads of dead bodies in the courtyard after the attack to make it look worse?

You keep arguing with 95 while posting an article that pretty much proves his point. Words matter, phrasing matters. The headline in your article reads “unprecedented attack”. Only Israel has been accused of an attack. Israel blamed Palestine but called it an accident. Continuing to call it an attack is absolutely implying Israel is responsible when there’s currently more proof that they weren’t. Once the headline has been read, most people have already made up their minds regardless of what edits are made later.

Israel is not relentless bombing 2 million Palestinians. And the US vetoed a resolution condemning Israel. I missed the UN meeting where the condemned Hamas for slaughtering and kidnapping civilians or using civilians as human shields. The world still hates Jews. And to reiterate— the world is about to understand that Jews are not passively accepting slaughter anymore. If you think it’s a bad look for the US to veto that resolution, then too bad. Hamas isn’t getting the chance to set its defenses and reload

    all correct— except
There is proof who did it. And who did not do it.
