fair enough but one could also ask what kind of government forces one religion to live in refugee camps squalor while funding the growth and development of secure, state of the art settlements for another religion? Hamas actions inexcusable, so are some of Israel's and they cede some moral authority with their actions. See the murder of the journalist, shot in the head by israeli army as she was covering a raid on a refugee camp in the WB. One of many journalist who have met a similar fate.

I'm on CNBC on most days due to markets. CNBC used the term "Israeli airstrike" throughout day to describe the bombing. They later corrected, but didn't go through all media.

What does that say on the left cropped out? Israelis say the cause was a misfired Palestinian rocket.

Those are the updated headlines. I guess you are ok with taking the word from terrorists as fact. Got it. Maybe you don’t understand what updated means.

More of the Palestine exception to free speech. US Campaign for Palestinian Rights conference, scheduled for months, is cancelled based on pressure on Hilton in Houston (where it was scheduled), due to Dan Crenshaw and Greg Abbott saying it was a conference (for "Hamas supporters"). Totally unprincipled humans. Hawley says any Palestinian student groups should be suppressed

The videos they post do sound similar to my untrained ear but I have no idea if what I'm listening to is what they claim it is.

Understood. Same. That is why I conceded that this one bit of evidence may go the other way. But the overall weight of evidence still supports an errant missile

BBC systematic review of available evidence

One fact may explain the number of claimed casualties which seems incongruous from the extent of observed structural damages

Based on available evidence, it appears the explosion happened in a courtyard which is part of the hospital site. Images of the ground after the blast do not show significant damage to surrounding hospital buildings. What the images do show includes scorch marks and burnt-out cars.

The hospital is owned and run by the Anglican Church.

Canon Richard Sewell, the dean of St George's College in Jerusalem, told the BBC that about 1,000 displaced people were sheltering in the courtyard when it was hit, and about 600 patients and staff were inside the building.

Also about the fireball, which seemed incongruent

J Andres Gannon, an assistant professor at Vanderbilt University, in the US, says the explosion appears to be small, meaning that the heat generated from the impact may have been caused by leftover rocket fuel rather than an explosion from a warhead.

Justin Bronk, a senior research fellow at the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) in the UK, agrees. While it is difficult to be sure at such an early stage, he says, the evidence looks like the explosion was caused by a failed rocket section hitting the car park and causing a fuel and propellant fire.

According to some, the hospital was being used as shelter for people displaced ...

You still haven't told me what the correct number is ... or explained why it's wrong for the media to report the number being claimed while properly citing their source for the number....

    Great questions.

    1. “What kind of government forces one religion to live in refugee camps?” The one that leaps to my mind is of course Nazi Germany. Israel, however, does not discriminate based on religion. Arabs have just as much freedom in Israel as Jews, including the right to be elected in office. It seems to me that you’re conflating the despair in Gaza with religion, and I don’t believe that is a fair at all. @duchen has provided in this thread a comprehensive history of what has occurred that resulted in Gaza being deplorable. Sure it’s complex, and sure there’s no innocents, with blame to spread through the four corners of the globe. But suffice it to say, at the expense of repetition of the comments made in the 1800+ posts above, it takes two sides to have a comprehensive negotiation and resolution. Israel has tried, fair deals have been negotiated which would provide self governance, amongst so many other things. However, as stated above, repeatedly, the Palestinians and Arab States have rejected all proposals, stating they would ONLY agree to a one-state solution, meaning the eradication of the Jewish State. That’s unacceptable.

Finally, on this point, with all of the wealth of the neighboring Arab States, why hasn’t any of the wealth made itself to Gaza for the betterment of the Gazans, instead only making its way to war against Israel?

    2. “See the murder of the journalist, shot in the head by israeli army as she was covering a raid on a refugee camp in the WB.” She was shot apparently by an Israeli soldier. The matter is being investigated, and it is expected that criminal charges will be filed. Now, compare that to the Hamas Government. Care to wager that they will not open an investigation into the murder of the people in their hospital they just blew up? Care to wager they won’t punish the kidnappers? Or those that murdered innocent women and children? Heck, their leaders have left Gaza to hide.

False narrative? Did Israel bomb the hospital? 100% no. Did 500, 300 or 200 people die? Nope. But you go ahead with your terrorist backed intel.
