Diwun Black and KW transferred to Temple. Black starts and KW backup in secondary. Tarquin got pulled from last game at USC versus ND for giving up too many sacks. Was only getting half time snaps. White transferred to USC but may have career ending injury. One OL, Mugharbil, transferred to Colorado and then promptly entered the portal again to transfer to NC State. David Connor still at Colorado but not playing Braun starts at Arky but average performance too date. Have not seen Trent and Bowman that transferred to UCF do not appear to get any playing time. Bowman 4th on UCF RB depth chart. Trent second string but no catches. Elk getting no playing time at South Carolina. Hopper and Travez Johnson at Missouri in the rotation. Hopper is the best performing transfer and biggest loss in the transfer portal at LB. Johnson is second on depth chart at the Star position Jalen Lee is a DT that is 3rd string on the depth chart there at LSU Andrew Chatfield is second on depth chart at DE position at Oregon State. Gerald Mincey is second on the OT depth chart at Tennessee Del Rio is 2nd or 3rd on depth chart for Syracuse at QB Any others?
Idk if it's "celebration" of their supposed drop off, but more of a vindication that the former regime just could not recruit SEC lvl players. I honestly think it's sad our former O&B brothers aren't thriving, but really throws several landing haymakers against said former regime that they had no clue wtf they were doing. I remember how excited we were thinking about the prospects of "Mullens" recruits. Well they NEVER beat out Mac's players & steadily got worse. I'm mean look at CBN, we're now running what, high 90% of his kids and his FROSH & SO are beginning to click. I personally find the Mullen years the most maddening in our history tbh. All he had to do was recruit & ditch a couple terrible AC's & I have 0 doubts we're a perennial playoff contender.
APR had a monster game this week. I always hated losing Hopper. Oline pieces might have been depth pieces but injuriy and family issues hurt our replacements which accounted for them. Hopper and possibly APR are the only two real losses in my opinion and I've been consistent with that since last year.
Nayquan Wright is averaging 4.5 yards/carry for S. Florida. Lingard is averaging 5 yards/carry for Akron. Borders is in the rotation and has a few tackles. Corey Collier - nothing Xzavier Henderson is the leading WR at Cincy (yards and receptions). Only one TD though. Emory Jones has 11 TDs and 8 INTs at Cincy. Hopper was the biggest loss and I'm not sure if there is a second place.
I don't think it's really "celebrating", just evaluating how it has worked out for both sides. I do think it's natural for a UF fan to hope their coaches were correct in evaluating things moving forward. As to Trent, who this hread is about....I always liked him as a player. But he simply quit during the season and there is NO excuse for that in my book. Transfer after the season for the betterment of your career I will wish you luck, but don't bail on your team with games to play. And as a result UF was left with a disaster at WR for Vandy and FSU games due to a crazy run of injuries and a guy quitting after senior day.
His departure was a shock. He was touted early on as being THE guy next but it all changed after they moved princely to OLB/edge.
I saw a little of Nyquan Wright playing against Bama for USF earlier this year and he had a few nice runs. I always loved the way he competed when he was healthy. I'm sorry it didn't work out for him in G'ville.
Agreed. I liked Powell-Ryland at that position a lot more, although he is a bit undersized compared to Princely.
