As an ONS spokes stated, the 94% is "highly misleading." Over 85% of the UK pop 12 & over are fully vaccinated and shoots north of 90% with at least one dose. Which is to say, it's not unexpected (more at predictable) that vaxxed comprise a far larger percentage of deaths because it's an outcome of the massive difference in vaccination rates. Not to mention, during that two-month time period, there were far fewer number of deaths compared to large number of deaths pre-vax.

I know. And it does not matter if you took the shot or not if you are healthy. Especially now. Healthy people were never at any real risk (And we knew this from the very beginning! From Italy to the Diamond Princess to New York). And we know the shots did nothing to slow the spread. Did they provide a small therapeutic effect? Maybe. But totally not worth the risk for a healthy person. These shots should have never been authorized for healthy people. We used an approach that is the antithesis of medicine. Shoot. We still would not let a foreigner into our country until May of this year unless they took the stupid shot. Even if they had Covid. The whole thing has been a political hack show in public health. The people pushing the policy they did should be tarred and feathered. And never allowed to work in public health again.

Do I need to school you on the concepts of non-zero risk and the benefit of reducing risk again. People who don't understand these simple concepts shouldn't be parents.

Please do not harm young kids and give them a shot that does not protect them from getting a disease they are not in danger from!

The numbers you have posted from England show that the vaccine is highly effective.

Do you understand the concept of non-zero risk?

Do you understand the concept of reducing a non-zero risk?

If no to both, you shouldn't be anywhere near children. Ignorance is the worst form of stupidity.

The numbers show who is at risk and who is not. But you do you and take unnecessary shots if you want.

I understand risk/harm. I understand a drug that is worthless at preventing infection.

Please do not harm young people!

No you don't understand. You've proven your ignorance time and time again. Preventing infection would be great. But if a shot didn't prevent a single infection, but cut severe cases and hospitalizations in half, then there would be a huge benefit. The shot has been shown to do exactly this in kids.

So again, do you understand non-zero risk? And do you understand the benefit of lowering a non-zero risk? Or, worded in another way, why is reducing risk of severe COVID a bad thing?

It's mistaken to think that healthy people "were never at any real risk." They were. Even if it varies, we are all at some amount of risk. But what makes even lower relative risk more substantial than it might otherwise seem to you is that to a person, covid can be unpredictable and definitely not innocuous.

Please don’t harm young people! You clearly are in denial it appears. Do not put young people at risk with a shot. A shot that does not prevent them from the getting the disease. A disease they are not at any real risk from.

Healthy people were never at a risk that would command a drug be Emergency Authorized for. And not only did we EUA the drug. We did it for groups that were at literally no risk unless crazy health issues like morbid obesity. Kids. And we knew there were safety signals for these groups. Big pharma and the few idiots in public health owned the narrative. Sadly they owned it for too long!!! Now they don’t as reality has been seen!

It's dumb to beat one's head against a stone wall. Of course it's even dumber not to use one's head at all, but at least you don't get a concussion. In the name of science this thread should be suspended for concussion protocol.

Once again, actual medical professionals disagree with your bullcrap. From this link:

If we looked at all those other leading causes of death – whether you’re talking about motor vehicle accidents or childhood cancer – and we said, ‘Gosh, if we had some simple, safe thing we could do to get rid of one of those, wouldn’t we just jump at it?” And we have that with Covid with vaccines,” said O’Leary, who is also a professor of pediatric infectious disease at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Guess the good Professor of pediatric infectious disease underestimated the level of ignorance of many people.

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) – NFID.

The virus is also increasingly recognized as a significant cause of respiratory illness in older adults in the US and is estimated to cause 60,000-160,000 hospitalizations, and 6,000-10,000 deaths in adults age 65 years and older annually. The actual burden among all age groups is likely even higher due to underreporting of RSV infections.

While those are non trivial numbers they may not be viewed as comparatively high for old people, plus if there is no particular cure or special treatment for RSV vs any other respiratory illness perhaps there was no need to test for it. I imagine some old people get bad colds and go to the hospital.

It has been clearly demonstrated that the vaccines lower mortality risk with Covid. I was curious if there was any data as to all cause mortality excluding death from Covid - vaccinated vs unvaccinated. If the vaccine were as dangerous as some here indicate surely that would show up statistically.

A safety study evaluating non-COVID-19 mortality risk following COVID-19 vaccination

The above study tried to determine that - and try to adjust for factors, such as the vaccinated being healthier overall.

The study showed that people who had the vaccines had lower all cause mortality, even excluding impacts of Covid. Since it seems unlikely that the vaccine will make you healthier against all other causes of death, it is likely some other factor causing the vaccinated data set to look better.

Having said that, this once again demonstrates that there is no overall measurable risk to vaccines in terms of all cause mortality, and several other studies came to similar conclusions.

Yeah we never tested for it in older people, if they came to the ER with cough cold fever and or wheezing you’d check for Pneumonia and the flu. If they weren’t hypoxia and or didn’t have pneumonia they likely might get prednisone(essentially the treatment) and go home.
If it was the flu they get Tamilfu etc.
My point was anecdotal, seems like a vaccine in search of an illness.

Kids were a different story, mostly infants as they were more likely to get “sicker” as the airway inflammation had a much bigger impact on them. Croup was the layman’s term I’m sure most of us have heard of it.

Please do not harm young people by unnecessarily giving them one of these shots. You want to do it yourself. By all means.

No sillier than virology and its putting viruses and variants on top of viruses and variants …
