I wonder how Mr. Advanced Stats analyzed Mertz's performance against USCe. 30/48.........423yds..........3TD/0INT..........41 - 39 This one was fair . . . BTW - Mertz is now middle of the SEC in QBR. He's much higher in other metrics.
How on Earth is Michigan's schedule thus far in the top 20ish. East Carolina 1-5 UNLV 5-1 Bowling Green 3-4 Rutgers 5-2 Nebraska 3-3 Minnesota 3-3 Indiana 2-4 We would potentially be 7-0 with that schedule too.
Been begging for more of those dark green EPA categories. We have playmakers on this team, need to continue to get them the ball.
And Mertz is in his first year in the offense. Interesting to see what he could do with another year of continuity and more experienced receivers in Wilson Jean and mizell next year not to mention AB and others.

The ranking is a guesstimate based on the image in the quoted post. Where they are positioned (down to the right of UF) on the graph would suggest they have one of the hardest schedules in CFB. The fact they show as having a tougher schedule thus far over ND for instance is ridiculous. ND has faced 2 top 10 and 2 top 25's in a row.
Once again, stats show our offense isn't "bad" like some people want to complain about. UF has the #6 SOS, stronger than proximal/higher teams.
I hate analytics and advanced stats with a passion. It’s a way to discount experience and knowledge of the game for math.
We're in a new war of the networks... and the B1G conference's networks are busy pimping misinformation to protect their investment... it's on full display with these phony rankings. Michigan is overrated and we all know they have played no one.
Huh? The data for the graph is from PFF, which is majority owned by Chris Collinsworth, who I'm sure you know is a former UF player. I don't think Michigan is overrated personally. In a time when many teams have trouble "getting up" for inferior competition, Michigan is destroying everyone they play averaging 40-7 thus far. Whether that translates vs Penn St and OSU, is tbd.
I was not responding to a graph just the prognosticators and who they work for. Michigan has played no one really. I would be surprised if they even make the playoffs. But it does seem like the B1G is getting a lot of love these days.
