5 teams from the west is dumb... You know stanky got together with Saban and Smart to make that schedule.
Normally I'd agree, but with next year's schedule being so tough, probably not. Florida has invested a lot in Napier and his staff. Think he has two more years after this. I can't see Bull Gators buying out again and then having to re-invest in a new coach who may end up being no better (look at the coaching hires we've made since SOS, other than CUM).
That is our bowl elegibility game. Otherwise fsu in the Swamp on senior day. Pray it's a night game. May not win but we will be fired up enough.
Against Arkansas, yes I think this is true and should get UF to a bowl. But every other team left of the schedule is markedly better than USCe, so yesterday's effort probably won't be enough in those games. But the offense is improving, Wilson's return adds another weapon that makes them less predictable and harder to defend. So there may still be 2 more wins left on the regular season schedule.
Honestly would love us to keep running the offense line yesterday but if we establish run against Mizzou we will beat them.
I am so puzzled as to why everyone keeps focusing on our offense as being the problem. They are not. Our defense is the problem.
I think it’s because we know a team like Mizzou is going to score points no matter what. I agree we need to improve defensively but Mizzou is going to get their points. We need to score at least 28. Won’t hurt to be able to run and keep clock running.
Because offense was the problem, now it's not. Defense wasn't the problem, now it seems that it is... Kind of weird....
I think offense, defense, and special game changers will take turns being the problem, but we saw enough spark against South Carolina to believe they can beat Arkansas at home and get at least 1 win against ranked Georgia, LSU, Missouri, or FSU. I am not saying that all three phases of the game will come together by end of season, but they could do enough to pull off some upsets.
What a great comeback, what grit and tenacity, and what good fortune that was bestowed on us for once! But... I have little hope in victory against UGA. I hate saying that but the disparity in talent and experience is too much to create any realistic expectation of a win and to feed this hope only sets us up as a fanbase to look bad (since there will be the inevitable pissy posts/tweets re-shared ad infinitum). Kirby Smart wants this win as much as Spurrier wanted it, a passion I respect, unfortunately. Is it possible? Yes, and no one would be more delighted. But I think our best hope is that our kids learn from it, see the gulf that must be crossed to compete at that level, avoid injuries to key players and just get tougher for other games we have a greater likelihood of winning.
Shane Matthews said it best- this team can beat anyone on their schedule. I think coach Napier called his best game so far, and we proved we can stay in a game till.the last whistle. It is not probable, but we still control our destiny in the east, beat Georgia and Missouri and its SEC Atlanta bound . LSU and ARKY are west div. Teams So I am not predicting a title but it is still on the table- hardest game in my opinion is LSU in Baton Rouge and UGA in Jax 2nd. I like where this team is right now, they are young and look hungry- let's surprise some people! Go Gators
The division winner is based on conference record. But controlling our own destiny is still on the table. Though it’s very unlikely.
This week's ESPN FPI is puzzling. Arkansas loses but goes up one. We win but drop one. It's not just [insert tin-foil conspiracy] ESPN. Sagarin has some weird over-valuing of schedule strength. 2-5 Arkansas is 10 spots ahead of us? Best of all...UK is two spots behind USCe in FPI.
