‘That decision cost lives’: Covid data case further deflates Ron DeSantis’s campaign | Ron DeSantis | The Guardian

The department will pay the plaintiffs’ $152,000 legal bill and resume regular posting of the data that DeSantis’s communications team insisted at the time was no longer necessary because cases had “significantly decreased” and that Florida was “returning to normal”.

In reality, as DeSantis dismissed reporting on the pandemic as “media hysteria”, the Delta variant of the virus was just taking hold, and cases and fatalities spiked, to a record 385 a day in Florida by September 2021. Simultaneously, Florida led the nation in pediatric Covid hospitalizations.

Critics dubbed DeSantis “the Pied Piper of Covid, leading everybody off a cliff”, as he forged ahead with an executive order banning mask mandates in schools, having already signed legislation awarding himself veto power over coronavirus mandates set by municipalities.

“Twenty-three thousand Floridians died during the Delta surge, and not only did the DeSantis administration restrict information on Covid during that time, they repeatedly downplayed the severity of the outbreak to fit their political narrative and help DeSantis run for president. That decision cost lives,” said Carlos Guillermo Smith, a Democratic former state congressman who filed the lawsuit against the Florida health department, later joined by the Florida Center for Government Accountability.

Although it's two years old this graph includes cases not deaths so obesity shouldn't be a factor although the percentage of the population that received the vaccine was very likely a factor.

So are you trying to say that people who didn't get the vaccine or who live in counties won by Trump are more likely to be obese? Why do you think that and why do you think that is?

While there could be a correlation between obesity rates and deaths from Covid, explain to me the relationship between the propensity to contract Covid in the first place and obesity. Is it that obese people are less likely to be vaccinated? Just asking. Or perhaps you didn't bother to read my second post in which I focused on the incidence of Covid rather than deaths from the virus as I did in my first post on the subject.

The other explanation, courtesy of the QShip, might be that those heavily Trump counties didn't have as much dental floss as the Biden counties did.

There is a positive association between covid death rates (with or without age adjusting) & obesity rates by state but there is an even stronger negative association with fully vaxxed/boosted by state. Thing is, obesity (and/or age) cannot explain away the significant association between covid deaths & vaccinations. Though I get this is not saying much of anything that we don't already know.

COVID shots tied to 17 MILLION 'vaccine deaths' (wnd.com)

They include 9.1% of the world's population and reported 10.3% of the world's COVID shots.

"In the 17 countries, there is no evidence in all-cause mortality (ACM) by time data of any beneficial effect of COVID-19 vaccines," the stunning results found. "There is no association in time between COVID-19 vaccination and any proportionate reduction in ACM. The opposite occurs."

The study states, "The all-ages vaccine-dose fatality rate (vDFR), which is the ratio of inferred vaccine-induced deaths to vaccine doses delivered in a population, is quantified for the January-February 2022 ACM peak to fall in the range 0.02 % (New Zealand) to 0.20 % (Uruguay). In Chile and Peru, the vDFR increases exponentially with age (doubling approximately every 4 years of age), and is largest for the latest booster doses, reaching approximately 5 % in the 90+ years age groups (1 death per 20 injections of dose 4). Comparable results occur for the Northern Hemisphere, as found in previous articles (India, Israel, USA). We quantify the overall all-ages vDFR for the 17 countries to be (0.126 ± 0.004) %, which would imply 17.0 ± 0.5 million COVID-19 vaccine deaths worldwide, from 13.50 billion injections up to 2 September 2023."

The report described the study as confirming "one death per 800 injections across all ages and countries. In other words, of the 13.25 billion injections delivered up until September 2, 2023, 17 million died from vaccine-related deaths.

"On the contrary, the evidence can be understood in terms of being subjected to a toxic substance. The risk of death per injection increases exponentially with age."

Actually, all Covid deaths occurred under Trump. But somehow more than two-thirds weren’t counted until after Biden took office.

How about you find better sources? Ones that don't cherry pick 18 countries having a COVID surge at the time of original vaccination and then declares all deaths due to vaccination, and not COVID! Again, easily debunked. Why? Because we know COVID ebbs and flows, and countries where there wasn't a surge during the time of original vaccination don't support you article's conclusion. We also see patterns all over the globe of COVID surges and then quiet periods that don't correspond to the vaccine at all. What we do see, however, is a reduction in surge numbers in cases, hospitalizations, and death in areas with higher vaccination rates.

So yes, I'll get another jab, thank you very little. I'm in an age group with a comorbidity that's genetic (asthma). Even if the jab only reduces my chance of getting sick by a small amount, it will also decrease my chances of having a severe case and decrease my chances of dying. And to me, that's a good thing.
