But will it be to us? Love the win today, but already thinking FL/GA. We've seen GA win a few close ones this year to unexpected teams. These next two weeks I will be thinking of nothing else except this matchup. Am I setting myself up for heartbreak? Probably...but I cannot WAIT to see these guys go up against a top tier SEC team in Jax. Here's to hoping they prepare well.
They have a super-cream puff schedule this year but even with that they haven’t looked impervious. I could see them losing in Atlanta at the very least, then getting trucked in a playoff game.
Let's be honest, Georgia probably did not waste a single second preparing for Vanderbilt. They definitely don't look like world-beaters this season, but Kirby is probably spending three weeks of practice preparing to beat us.
Funny how some think we're gonna lose every remaining game and some think Kirby is spending three weeks preparing for us.
That's a good point. Either way, both teams obviously take this game seriously, and we'll probably still get worked by 'em. But crazier things have happened in Jax...
They will smoke us but I do t think they are anywhere close to the best team in the country. But then, there aren’t many great teams this year. Bama/LSU could get them, but if they don’t, they get to run through the weakest no 2 and 3 teams I can remember. Michigan would lose 4 games with our schedule. OSU has the best receiver I’ve ever seen and little else. OK is pedestrian. Right now, LSU and FSU look the best to me, but UGA will just slide into the playoffs. We could spoil it all, but for our being who we are.
In my opinion (worth nothing) Ga is the most talented and deep team in America. They sure must have a lot of money!
Where are our headhunters on D,........ I mean guys that actually strive to bring pain to the opposing team? Not to take anything from the last two defensive series against USCe, but the D guys have GOT to show up the whole game against UGA and dictate! The Secondary needs to make plays like the last two stops. And for the love of GOD, please let us get to a slower Beck and cause havoc! Last nights win was so great for the future of Gator football in so many ways! Heart, determination, and some fine luck on a couple of plays,...... never quit attitude. Trey Smack is outstanding! Heal up, retune, and hopefully play some great football in two weeks. Really enjoyed watching this win! GO GATORS!!!!
Just becasue they didn't make our mistake against Kentucky (we played that "prevent 3 man front" on defense, they did not) doesn't mean they are closet world beaters. "Coincidentally," we started the game against USCe in a 3 man front (prevent defense) and USCe marched right down the field and scored with ease... I think AA needs to just give up that sorryazz 3 lineman (rushing) front on defense...
They will toy around and let us hang for about a half, then their experience and talent will pull away and close it with a 2-3 TD win We will get them next year
Let's beat those evil, ugly, dirty, hairy, stinking, snorting, flatulent, leghumping bastards! This game means something now! Even if we lose, I'd rather delude myself for a couple of weeks than sit around licking my wounds before the game!
Just because the talking heads will make us a double digit underdogs doesn't mean you're deluding yourself thinking we can and will win this game. I like thinking positive too. One more thing, Screw UGA.
Earlier in the year, when both USCe and UGA were fully healthy, the dawgs beat USCe by 10 points... in Athens. Not saying the transitive property will suddenly work in college football but it's nice to know that if USCe can play them close then anything is possible when we play UGA. As long as AA doesn't have brain fat and he decides to go into a 3 man defensive front (prevent defense) in that game. That NEVER FREAKING WORKS... especially in the SEC.
We have 2 weeks to build on this win. We need urgency in solidifying our tackling, as this problem has reared it's head multiple times this season. Mutts are very solid defensively. They don't miss many tackles and have many good athletes. We need to follow the same game plan..play them tough and go into the 4th quarter with a chance to win the game. From a personal perspective, i don't want to start thinking about the rest of the season. I'm not one to constantly post about "my fears" (like some on these boards), but my nightmare scenario would be the humpers vs the holes in the NC. We have control over that to some degree so hopefully USCE was a turning point for us and we play well rest of the year.
