I said he was a top 3 QB in sec before season started. I think he has NFL in his future at least a solid back up. I hope he comes back next year. We has good weapons at WR and TE. Have to improve OL and we will be very good on O. We are going to flip Smith from Ohio ST. We have a lot of very good young players
He and Devin Leary have been awful this season. And Spencer Sanders can't get off the bench at Ole Miss.
But but but Matthanuf06 said Mertz maxed out his production at Wisconsin and wouldn't be any better here unless he could magically learn how to run better than AR! The advanced stats said so!!!!!! Mertz is doing exactly what he needs to do, and then some. He has been OUTSTANDING this year.

McCall has been good, just doesnt have the talent around him of previous teams. Sadly he looked pretty good against App State on Tuesday as he sent my daughter and the rest student section home bummed with a walk off field goal drive.
Yes Billy needs an OC, but can he get a little credit here? Mertz had FOUR games under 100 yds passing last season. And only his 200 yards 6 times. He literally eclipsed FOUR of his games from last year in todays game alone.
I don’t know if he NEEDS one if he’s able to make the adjustments he did today. But one thing I notice is he’s always walking down the sidelines talking into his mic not paying attention to the moment. I feel like THAT (the moment) is the job of the HC. He can call every play correct but that’s always in my mind
CBN called his best game today, I think. Really let Mertz throw downfield a lot and that kept us coming right back.
Down 10 pts late, I had no hope for us because of the past! But Mertz went from 277 to 400+ yrds in a hurry! It was refreshing and I was glad to be proven wrong! Go Mertz, Go Gators! Oh and Pearsall is fast becoming a first round take.
Hearing there is word that he plans to add an OC. I hope he follows through. He would be much more consistently effective just managing the game
