Post-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at USCe

They were great tonight. Let us start the game with good field position, had a penalty, shanked punts., muffed fg. We should definitely go after the guy running their st’s!
Folks here would have lost their minds if our st’s performed as bad as theirs tonight, even with the blocked fg.

I think last week or either UK week was the first time I noticed it. Is that like the guy for Detroit that keeps a green one in the opening on the back of his helmet? Haha

 

I like during our comeback, Napier looked calm and positive and perhaps that demeanor transferred to our young team. While the fans and players needed this win, Napier REALLY needed it.

Chad Pennington was my sleeper QB back in the day for fantasy. Limp noodle for an arm but deadly accurate in short passes and didn’t make mistakes

 

Spencer Rattler is SC…. He’s finally living up to the hype. He already had the confidence factor, but now he’s maturing as a player and teammate. His pocket presence is getting better. His only screwup was the INT in the end, because he really didn’t need to throw it.

Latest mock draft has him going late 1st. If he keeps putting numbers up he could be top 15.

 

I was thinking Don Gaffney to Lee McGriff versus Georgia.

Great pitch and catch but Boardingham’s “block” was atrocious on that play

 

USCe took more penalties, but still seemed like they got some serious home cooking on the worst calls in the game that were missed.

USCe got away with at least 3 ridiculous non-calls on pass interference, at least 1 holding call right in front of a ref that let Rattler get his big run, and in the first half they had a low hit on Mertz that wasn’t called roughing the passer.

That roughing call against us late seemed incredibly weak considering all the no calls (the replay was a distant shot so it’s hard to say, but it didn’t look too bad… maybe our guy caught him in the helmet, definitely wasn’t much of a hit).

 

Game could have gone either way. Rattler is a quality QB and the Cocks a quality team. Don't let anyone say different, brother!

 

Props to the special teams, yes we got a FG blocked but got a number of long FGs and didn't suck otherwise.

 

This needs to be on a shirt.

regarding Mertz…I see many people posting wondering if he will be back. where do people think he is going? Unless he pulls a grad transfer transfer..,he isn’t going anywhere. He is not going to be drafted high in the nfl draft if drafted at all. He has average measureables (height, weight, speed, arm strength) with 3 seasons of bad tape and some average to good performances at Uf. I suppose if he dominates the rest of the way he could go pro but man, odds are against him. Guys like Sam Hartman came back after much better college career and tape mainly since his skill set is better for college than nfl. No shame in that.

glad to be able to enjoy two weeks post victory with the bye week coming, would have sucked to lose. But what a late game performance.

 

The production quality of this game by the alphabet network was absolute trash, imho. It was like they did the game with only 3 cameras and the guy in charge of replays was on a smoke break every 15min. My guess is they do so many games and are stretched thin, plus they’re cheap. That’s why it’s so good to get the CBS game, they’re light years better.

 

I turned it off with 47 seconds and 3 timeouts. Been there before. Glad it worked.

 

Gonna miss CBS when it's all ESPN starting next year.
