I went to softball practice this afternoon and it was enjoyable. The first thing they did was infield. Here are some positions and players. C--Erickson, Wilkie, and one other 1B-Goelz, Brown, Wilkie 2B-Walsh, Williams SS-Wallace, Williams 3B-Hovermale, Barnard, Kowalewski LF-Otis, Kistler, and one other CF-Falby, and 1 other RF-Banard, Goelz There was no live pitching by our players. The pitchers got on the mound and mimicked pitching during batting practice, and they had to field. CTW's infield practice is a thing of beauty. It is fast, crisp, and loud. If you ever get a chance go check it out. The OF practice was the same. They would put runners on various bases, hit it into the outfield, and the other players would yell to what base to throw it. The catcher would tell the cutoff player to cut or let it go. CTW put a lot of emphasis on players not involved in the play communicating where to throw the ball. We have some really good arms on this team. Batting practice was thrown by Mariana Abate who is listed as a Student Manager on the roster. Jake Long, the Graduate Student Manager threw the second half. Both did well. Of course,, Jake had the most velocity. There is a lot of power on this team. But they also hit with power in the outfield gaps. They also hit hard ground balls in the infield holes. Those with multiple homers: ( I may not be exactly right) Baylee-5 second longest Reagan-3 and the longest. On the off of the pitching lab, and then way past the right of the scoreboard. There were more, but my old mind does not remember. I met Keagan Rothrock's mother, MacKenzie Whooten's parents, and Ariel Kowaleski's parents. Come on out if you can.
You must have an embossed invitation signed in gold ink by CTW. NOT. If the front gate is open, you can come in. Exhibition against JU today at noon.
Wasn’t she a highly ranked player coming out of PB Gardens HS? Her dad and brother passed from COVID just before or just after she started as a freshman at Ole Miss. I hope she does well for us.
Two games of five innings each, Gators won the first 8-0, Ava with a one hitter. Kendra with the big hit, triple with the bases load. I’m not there. I am getting a feed from a person there.
Rumor is. Keagan is out for the year due to an undisclosed injury. he said that's probably why miller was a late addition. I don't know if the rumor is true or not. but knowing she hasn't pitched so far this fall makes me suspect she is.
I don't know if I would believe it or not but with that injury she had last year they may be intentionally resting her this fall. She probably never completley recovered.... prettt major thing she had. Day she was cleared started school ball and went all the way through to pgf finals.
