Guess they are just drawn to right-wing nationalist projects that subjugate their neighbors or disfavored peoples for some reason.

Where exactly are the 1M Palestinians who have 24h evacuation orders supposed to go? That is like evacuating all of Manhattanites to the Bronx; similar population numbers.

UN is already calling this mandatory evacuation "Inhumane."

It’s more like telling everyone north of 72nd Street to go south or vice versa, and the total length of Gaza is 25 miles. Even if you’re at the very northern tip, walk 12 miles south and you’ve completed the evacuation Israel asked for.

Is it going to be pleasant for the million people from the north half of Gaza to pack in with the million people in the south half of Gaza for some period of time? Almost assuredly not, but that’s going to be true no matter how long you give them to evacuate.

And the UN saying that isn’t terribly surprising. It’s Palestinian mission is generally not what most folks would consider a neutral voice on Israeli/Palestinian issues.

You make it sound like a stroll through Central Park.

Where, exactly, are these 1M mandatory evacuees (of which probably 950,000 are innocent civilians) supposed to live? Eat? Work?

We both know this Israeli occupation of Gaza will likely be forever.

When the US was in Afghanistan, we didn't ask half the population to evacuate to the other side of the city. We didn't block their food or medicine or water. We relied heavily on intel and then used surgical pin-point attacks to render the insurgents. Why can't Israel do the same?

you could make an argument that what we did in Afghanistan didn’t work because we were there for 20 years and we all know the results.

Yes, but at one point we had banished the Taliban from Afghanistan.

Then the US pivoted the war on terror to Iraq, because you know, wmd's and all that...

The truth is that our methods of securing intel and making precision, surgical attacks worked to abolish Taliban from Afghanistan.

I stand with the Jewish people and the Palestinians, not with Netanyahu or Hamas.

Told you it would just be a matter of time before the powers that be turned on Israel. Even happened sooner than I thought.

When you say "the powers that be," are you referring to the UN?

Learn your geography, please. The island of Manhattan is 13 miles long and inhabited by 1.3M people.

So, Netanyahu's evacuation mandate of 1.1M people to move 12.5 miles is equivalent to the forced evacuation of the entirety of Manhattan into the Bronx within a 24h time limit.

In addition, these Palestinians (of which 950,000 are likely innocent) must evacuate in a warzone without food, medicine, gas, electricity and water.

Seems to be a very asymmetric response to the horrific murder of 1300 innocent Jews.

I stand with the Jewish people and the Palestinian people, not with Netanyahu or Hamas.

The US response to Pearl Harbor was asymmetric. The US response to 9-11 was also. Sometimes the response has to be asymmetrical. That is the only language that clearly communicates the message “Never again.”

UN first, but Biden administration will fall in line as well. What they are doing now is standing by and letting Israel do what they want so that they can come back later and question it after it’s done.

That was always part of Hamas’ strategy. They are gambling, as they have successfully done in the past, that world opinion will turn against Israel and they will accept a third-party ceasefire before they are able to achieve a decisive victory and force a surrender.

That's probably a winning strategy. It's in Israel's best interests to move quickly, IMO.

Israeli President Says There Are No Innocent Civilians In Gaza

Israeli president, Isaac Herzog, says everybody in Gaza, not just Hamas, is responsible for the horrific murder of the 1200 innocent Jews last week:
