The economy was probably a more significant factor but if you don't think that Iran hostage crisis wasn't a factor you're living in a different reality. On more than one occasion the Iranian government gave the impression that it would release the hostages not unlike Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown the Ayatollah Khomeini jerked Carter at the least minute to humiliate him ultimately releasing the hostages as Reagan was being sworn in on January 20, 1981 to complete its humiliation of Jimmy Carter.

Trump revealing ANY classified US, Israeli or other intelligence to Russian officials should be condemned by all Americans. Trump clearly enjoys bragging about what he knows and sharing it with ANYONE he's trying to impress. Security clearances and "the need to know" mean nothing to this sorry excuse for a commander in chief. He'll even spill his guts to Putin's Russian agents during a photo op in the Oval Office.

Here you go . . . . This 2017 article even mentions that Trump probably compromised a vital source for information on Iran and its proxies.

". . . the U.S. commander in chief may have compromised a vital source of information on the Islamic State and possibly Iran . . . . The details Trump spilled likely came from a source that was also useful on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Hezbollah proxies in Syria and Lebanon, which are much higher priorities for Israel, the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said."

Even though you admit that you don't have the facts, you've already prepared a lengthy excuse for Trump sharing highly classified information with Putin's agents during their visit in the Oval Office.

Guess what??? The info is classified for a reason. The article I posted above said:

". . . the U.S. commander in chief may have compromised a vital source of information on the Islamic State and possibly Iran . . . . The details Trump spilled likely came from a source that was also useful on Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and its Hezbollah proxies in Syria and Lebanon, which are much higher priorities for Israel . . ."

My question for you is do you hold Trump accountable for ANYTHING?!?!?!

You apparently don’t know me at all. I think Trump is a dangerous buffoon, I’m glad he’s not President, and I’m glad (no matter how much certain people want to hold the fear out there) that he is never going to be President again. I merely pointed out (accurately) that the supposition Trump was partly to blame for the Hamas attacks because of some intel he shared with Russia is ridiculous. You say he still shouldn’t have shared it. Well, I disagree … except for any revelation he may have given about the source. But that’s also outside the scope of this thread, which is about our domestic political parties trying to deflect from any dumb decisions they’ve made lately and amplify the dumb decisions of the other party.

The scary thing about Trump's mishandling of classified information is that he doesn't carefully consider the pros and cons of sharing information. Rather, he blurts out classified info to impress his audience and show them what a big shot he is. Always self centered narcissism. Never what's best for our country.

Yes, but that isn’t the topic. Trump was also stupid for getting into pissing matches with judges, the media, and his own key staff, and that too has nothing to do with the thesis that he is indirectly at fault for Hamas’ aggression.

You got 10 "Come On Mans" for a factual post. My guess is we will add China/Taiwan before the crypt keeper vacates the WH.

In fairness, the accusations that Biden was behind the Kentucky loss were traced back to sources in Coach Billy Napier’s office.

Or the part where Trump calls Putin a genius for violently invading Ukraine. Or the part where Trump encourages China to build more concentration camps. He absolutely loves and envies tyrants acting like tyrants.

I see you are still confused about the topic. See, this is not a general “Trump is a douchebag” thread, though, there are plenty of those already in existence. Now if you have something where Trump as President, for example, enabled Iran or weakened Israel and helped precipitate the current events, intentionally or not, then that would be a meaningful contribution.

Sorry, uftaipan, ALL THREADS to the Left are "Trump is a douchebag threads" Try to keep up.
And, yes, Trump can be a douchebag. Back to the thread:

How do we know that Trump and Israel didn't set up the Russians and create an apparent kurfluffel about the intelligence shared? We don't. Truth is, none of us know squat about what was shared and if it really had any significance. Remember, this was May of 2017 - Trump was in the office 3 months and the FBI and others were working overtime to make him impotent. But, it was in Vanity Fair; and, remember Mikel Jollet a "prominent commentator" said it was bad; so, of course, off with his head.

Do I need your permission to respond to posts in this thread??? Didn't think so.

This thread actually began with a post not related to your declared thread subject. It was about the GQP chair saying that the terrible situation in Israel is "a great opportunity for our candidates".

"RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel: The Hamas/Israel Situation is....a great opportunity for our candidates."

Your declared subject is one of 3-4 subjects raised in this thread.

Not really. The thread, as you suggest, is about Republicans trying to give a share of blame to the Democrats for what has happened in Israel. A Democrat response was “Oh, yeah? Well, Trump gave Israeli intelligence to the Russians!” And I agree that would be relevant if the intelligence, as implied, had anything to do with what was going on now. But then you went full-on “Look at all the bad stuff Trump did!” and went from possibly relevant “what-aboutism” to completely off topic. If that’s fair game, then okay, that will be my response in any argument. Next time my wife accuses me of not using the toilet brush correctly, I plan to tip in with “Oh, yeah? Well, Trump is a douchebag!”

Technically correct. "Rapture" is not used in the bible, however; the term "Final Judgement" is used to describe the end of days.
