Russia invaded. They got pretty damn close to Kiev early on, and have since been pushed back to that eastern sliver they're clinging on to.

I suppose it depends on how we define "winning", but I damn sure know for a fact, that Russia hasn't impressed anyone.

It'd be like McNeese State taking the Gators to quadruple overtime.

Win lose or draw, the Gators wouldn't have impressed anyone with such a showing.

Russian troops are increasingly suffering from mental health issues, including PTSD. There were 100,000 cases of PTSD diagnosed last December, so the current number may be close to double that. They may be running out of vodka, also. This may explain Russia's low combat capability.

NATO official believes that Russian losses in Ukraine are close to 300,000. This may explain why the average level of training of Russian troops seems to be down to about 15 minutes.

It could be including injured as well as killed. I think I read one report that Russia has had 120,000 killed and 180,000 injured.

People frequently mistakenly believe deaths = casualties. They are not the same thing.

The word "losses" is somewhat vague. It could mean either death or casualties, since someone who is severely injured is likely not returning to the battlefield and is "lost" to the military.

Ukrainians have invented a radio that they claim is immune to Russian electronic warfare attempts to jam it.

Ukrainians invent radio that cannot be jammed by Russian electronic warfare

I wonder if this could lead to drones that are immune to Russian attempts to jam their signal.

Somehow down from the 200,000 you said were killed a year ago. In other words, perhaps twice as many as had been injected into theatre at that time.

Russia has launched a major attack in the east and is gaining ground but taking massive losses in the process.

I guess their military leadership is willing to take very disproportionate losses to placate Putin. I just wonder if the troops and the Russian people will ever say enough is enough

Good. Russia taking the offensive is exactly what Ukraine wants. They will trade space for casualties all day long.

If the Ukranian podcasters I follow are to be believed, Russia will have a tough go of it with their attempted "pincer encirclement".
Supposedly the front in those areas are bristling with Ukranian fighting power.

The Javelin does not have as much utility in the offense as it does in the defense. And Ukraine loves them some Javelins.

Hey just a brief note of appreciation regarding "Javelins" In the early days of this thread you provided some insightful information about that weapon system.

From your comments and other sources it would seem the Javelins, in concert with the complete idiocy of Russian political and military planners, put the "ke-bosh" on Putins brief soiree and expected victory in Kiev.

It was a lot of things, not just the Javelin, but that weapon system certainly exceeded our expectations.
