The fringes in both sides are the same. Trump has no ideology except himself. He wants the adoration from wherever it comes. The neo Nazis and bigots are just votes and tools for him. The bigger problem on the GOP side is that the fractured party empowers them. The Speaker needs their votes. But, the Dems are partly to blame for empowering them because they won’t vote for a GOP speaker. I don’t like Scalise much, but they need to marginalize the fringes.

I mainly stopped back by to see what some on the board would be saying about an attack that looked like what would happen if horde of Mongols with firearms sacked a town in this day and age. That is what we saw last weekend. I was hoping that the reality of what Hamas really is would finally break through and that modern civilizations cannot allow that to continue to exist, much like we did with ISIS. Apparently that is not the case, which is sad.

BTW, i think Netanyahu should (and ultimately will) shoulder plenty of blame. But of course Trump has all the reasons wrong (if anything, it ironically sounds like Israel put too much faith in their wall/fence, and that overconfidence in the infrastructure was the “defensive” failing). For a Presidential candidate to be spouting such nonsense at this time? Come on man.

 

Wonder how Syria will respond to this and what intel led Israel to strike these airports. Is Hamas moving weapons or people through these airports or is it jsut a continuation of previous strikes to punish cooperation between Iran and Hamas/Hezbollah?

DAMASCUS (AP) — An Israeli airstrike hit the international airport in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria early on Monday, damaging a runway and putting it out of service, Syrian state media said.

State news agency SANA, citing a military official, said Israeli planes coming from the Mediterranean Sea carried out the attack at around 4:30 a.m. There were no casualties reported.

The airport has been targeted several times this year, including two attacks in March that also put it out of service.

I’m talking about 2010, not the 1967 never formally tendered offer which did not include the West Bank, as it was intended to be 3 party with Egypt and Syria. I was talking about 2010. Water rights, always overlooked in shorthand summaries, were a big issue, but ultimately it was the demand to cut off relations with Iran and later the Arab Spring. I didn’t like his comments about pro-Palestine groups, assuming there even are any at UF. If whatever minor panic incident at UF had nothing to do with any “counter protest”, and actually was just due to those people already being on a hair trigger, why even bring that up one way or the other? Seems stupid, if not irresponsible. IMO.

 

Apparently Israel does that with some frequency as the article notes the airport has been hit “several times” this year.

What’s interesting is they are doing this at a “government controlled” airport, which i guess is a kind of “in your face” to Assad and Russia, unlike hitting a landing strip in the “ungoverned” parts of Syria.

If you say you have pity for someone, it doesn’t mean you are looking down on them or spitting upon them.

Take a refugee for example, if a person says “I take pity on them” that just means they recognize their situation and may have compassion for them. That’s it.
