The fringes in both sides are the same. Trump has no ideology except himself. He wants the adoration from wherever it comes. The neo Nazis and bigots are just votes and tools for him. The bigger problem on the GOP side is that the fractured party empowers them. The Speaker needs their votes. But, the Dems are partly to blame for empowering them because they won’t vote for a GOP speaker. I don’t like Scalise much, but they need to marginalize the fringes.

I said I have sympathy for people with family in Palestine including her. Sure. You dont? My sympathy for them doesnt minimize my shock and horror regarding those murdered by terrorists in Israel.

It was European Christian committing pogroms against Jews. Not Christians vs. Jews. It was also European Pagans committing Jews, which is who the Nazis were. The price we pay for living in their country and being accused through the centuries of DEIcide. Historically, Muslims treated Jews with respect as “people of the Book.” That has changed in many places

Scalise would be fringe in most GOP eras.

Also Rick: the current boundaries of most of these countries are artificial and were drawn up in colonial times

He is a better option than Jordan. And the country needs a speaker and military leadership confirmed by the Senate

Sounds like somebody doesn’t understand the language being used. It ain’t me.
If you pity someone, you’re looking down on that person.
It’s a bad look for you and a poor choice of communication.
    Do you.

I mainly stopped back by to see what some on the board would be saying about an attack that looked like what would happen if horde of Mongols with firearms sacked a town in this day and age. That is what we saw last weekend. I was hoping that the reality of what Hamas really is would finally break through and that modern civilizations cannot allow that to continue to exist, much like we did with ISIS. Apparently that is not the case, which is sad.

I like UF President Ben Sasse's comments (emphasis mine). Also, didn't know UF had the largest Jewish student population of any University.

"I will not tiptoe around this simple fact: What Hamas did is evil and there is no defense for terrorism. This shouldn’t be hard. Sadly, too many people in elite academia have been so weakened by their moral confusion that, when they see videos of raped women, hear of a beheaded baby, or learn of a grandmother murdered in her home, the first reaction of some is to “provide context” and try to blame the raped women, beheaded baby, or the murdered grandmother. In other grotesque cases, they express simple support for the terrorists."

Trump blames Netanyahu, probably gives up more (technically) classified info while joking about doing it, and calls Hezbollah “very smart”.

Trump praises Iran-backed Hezbollah as ‘very smart,’ says if he were president, Israel ‘wouldn’t have had to be prepared’

I’m sure all the MAGA’s condemning a few random student groups or “the Squad” for whatever each of them said (or simply failed to say in most cases), will be all over this POS’s idiocy!

BTW, i think Netanyahu should (and ultimately will) shoulder plenty of blame. But of course Trump has all the reasons wrong (if anything, it ironically sounds like Israel put too much faith in their wall/fence, and that overconfidence in the infrastructure was the “defensive” failing). For a Presidential candidate to be spouting such nonsense at this time? Come on man.

Wonder how Syria will respond to this and what intel led Israel to strike these airports. Is Hamas moving weapons or people through these airports or is it jsut a continuation of previous strikes to punish cooperation between Iran and Hamas/Hezbollah?

Reported Israeli strike damages Aleppo airport and puts it out of service | AP News

DAMASCUS (AP) — An Israeli airstrike hit the international airport in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria early on Monday, damaging a runway and putting it out of service, Syrian state media said.

State news agency SANA, citing a military official, said Israeli planes coming from the Mediterranean Sea carried out the attack at around 4:30 a.m. There were no casualties reported.

The airport has been targeted several times this year, including two attacks in March that also put it out of service.

Syria's 2 Main Airports Out Of Service After Simultaneous Israel Strikes (ndtv.com)

Israeli strikes knocked Syria's two main airports out of service on Thursday, Syrian state media said, in the first such attack since a weekend Hamas assault on Israel triggered fierce fighting.

Israeli strikes have repeatedly caused the grounding of flights at the airports in the capital Damascus and northern city Aleppo, both of which are controlled by the government of war-torn Syria.

The "simultaneous" strikes "damaged landing strips in the two airports, putting them out of service", state media said, citing an unidentified military source.

I’m talking about 2010, not the 1967 never formally tendered offer which did not include the West Bank, as it was intended to be 3 party with Egypt and Syria. I was talking about 2010. Water rights, always overlooked in shorthand summaries, were a big issue, but ultimately it was the demand to cut off relations with Iran and later the Arab Spring. Recognizing Israel was not the issue, hasn’t been with most counterparties for a long time.

I almost negotiated Israel-Syria peace. Here’s how it happened.

I didn’t like his comments about pro-Palestine groups, assuming there even are any at UF. If whatever minor panic incident at UF had nothing to do with any “counter protest”, and actually was just due to those people already being on a hair trigger, why even bring that up one way or the other? Seems stupid, if not irresponsible. IMO.

Apparently Israel does that with some frequency as the article notes the airport has been hit “several times” this year.

What’s interesting is they are doing this at a “government controlled” airport, which i guess is a kind of “in your face” to Assad and Russia, unlike hitting a landing strip in the “ungoverned” parts of Syria.

The only person I pity is your 2nd grade English teacher who failed us all and now we have to deal with your errant postings. You came up with the word "pity" on your own genius. Find the word pity in the circled post that you responded to.

This is a bad look for you and a poor choice of communication.

If you say you have pity for someone, it doesn’t mean you are looking down on them or spitting upon them.

Take a refugee for example, if a person says “I take pity on them” that just means they recognize their situation and may have compassion for them. That’s it.

Seems you are trying to project some other meaning to what was said.

That's a nice way to put it. I see it a bit differently,........ boundaries set by Western Imperalists, with boundaries set to maximize labor and resource exploration for the Imperialists.

The Middle East, Yugoslavia (The Balkans)
and now that I think about it, all of the British Empire including the Islands just West (Ireland) and lands N of Hadrians Wall, ......Scotland.
