Sooooo… one politician? Who is very much NOT “my girl” btw. That’s it? Wow. Yeah, I totally see your point now. That’s definitely indicative of your broad generalization: “our politicians remain silent”.

We actually already had a discussion on this, and I called out “the squad” members in post #990.

Perhaps it is you who should keep up?

Dimona? Sooo not good. Never say it cant get worse. Nothing in the text of the linked story about Dimona.

UPDATE: Just scanning, but some sites said it was a done from Lebanon, which makes no sense geographically (thanks Elon). Looks like an internal criminal security incident, under control

Chin up. Hezbollah entering the fight was the predictable next step. Apparently, they want to scare us into halting our support of Israel.

Looks like Hezbollah may not be fully jumping in. All this is uncertain

I hear you. Some are suggesting they are not fully jumping in. Hard to tell right now. I am assuming we have some carrier based AWACS presence so should have a strong picture. But all uncertain

Funny how articles like these from CNN completely contradict what’s being reported from other outlets:

Iran intelligence: Initial US intel suggests Tehran was surprised by the Hamas attack on Israel | CNN Politics

And the obvious issue is, American intelligence can’t be trusted not to bend their narrative to the benefit of the current administration. As proven with the “I have 51 intelligence officers who signed a letter which says the Hunter laptop is Russian disinformation”, etc etc. So many lies flying around from agencies we’ve been chastised for not trusting.

What part of that statement is incorrect? Do all train their kids to hate Jews? Probably not. Is training kids to hate Jews the norm there? Absolutely.

    No I have not.

I've said it's not a minority of Palestinians who support Hamas and I've said that anti-semitism is the norm there.

How is it a form of moral relativism? I think it's pretty simple logic and a pretty simple standard. Support for a terror group that rapes women, kidnaps and beheads children, then hides behind civilians... is evil. Also, anti-semitism is evil.

The only moral standard that immediately comes to mind which can even possibly justify such atrocities is relativism.

I don't hate Palestinians. I hate Hamas and supporters of Hamas which happens to not be a minority of Palestinians.

I responded because I found your generalization far off base (U.S. politicians have been VERY outspoken in support of Israel, some even going into full bloodlust mode). Any assertion to the opposite is just false.

You responded with a singular example of a politician who is equivocating, and there are actually a few of them. But they carry no weight when it comes to support of Israel. Perhaps try not to think in absolutes?

I hope that clears it up for you.

The very fact that we aren’t fully unified politically on something this horrific is noteworthy and bolsters my post.

it is up to the Palestinians to denouce terrorism and radicalism. Why do you think the other Muslim countries do not want them to migrate there?

Never even tried to suggest that you hated Palestinians. My issue, more generally, is how we humans morally justify killing.

We create these justifications but then apply them differently when there is no meaningful difference in situations (hence the relativism).

This is why I asked about support for the Iraq war etc. "We" as in Americans, elected GWB (despite over half the country not voting for him), and of those who did, there was widespread support for invading Iraq. in which 100s of thousands of innocent civilians were slaughtered.

Whether they voted for Hamas or not, if normal everyday Palestinians are responsible for a minority of people on behalf of their government killing 100s of others, then normal every-day Americans, meaning all of us, are just as responsible for those 100s of thousands Iraqi deaths. And if we are responsible, our deaths at the hands of Iraqis would be justifiable.

Fact is, the human capacity to engage in mental gymnastics to justify and rationalize morality in killing of others is replete throughout history It is what humans do. But it doesn't mean that such justifications have any merit. And this is just me, personally, I don't hold the value of Jewish lives above Palestinian lives and vice versa.

Seems like a weird tactic. We generally love war. Nothing going on over there seems to make sense.
